Interesting. Last time I saw her she had really hunchy shoulders and skated with her head/neck really stuck out forward from her body. Maybe she's improved this over the last couple of seasons.

So what about other Canton teams? Will D-W and Shibs go?

Chartrand scored 133.43 at Lake Placid JGP. That meets the criteria for a senior assignment. Way to go!

There's no Canadian singles skaters entered at Finlandia. That's the only other senior B listed on Skate Canada's international assignments page.

So the TBA spot in ladies at Skate Canada remains a mystery...

So SC doesn't send any ladt to Finlandia or Ondrej Nepela and only 1 to US Senior B!! There has to be a reason. I am thinking Alexandra and Cynthia are still out. Why not Kate or Adrianna? I guess they want to keep it a mystery but without any comps left how will they choose.

So SC in their wisdom have names Polina Shelepen (Russia) to TBA at SCI. What a slap in the face to Canadian ladies skaters. I am sure they could have sent Adrianna or Kate. So SC has thrown away 1 spot to SLC, 1 spot to Ondrej Nepela, and 1 spot to Finlandia. What a joke!!

Posted by Danafan in US Senior B Predictions

    "Ladies

    Gracie GOLD (USA)
    Agnes ZAWADZKI (USA)
    Amélie LACOSTE (CAN)
    Elena GLEBOVA (EST)
    Melissa BULANHAGUI (PHI)
    Isadora WILLIAMS (BRA)
(If Lacoste can't medal in this field....)"

Unless she improved since Quebec Summerskate I would not expect her to medal here even in this field. Will be surprised if she compiles the minimum TES for Worlds.

I don't think Canada should be sending someone just because they have a spot, unless it's a promising young skater on the rise like Osmond who has shown she has the chops. None of the other 'contenders' for spots such as Charbonneau, Najarro, DeSanctis or Samson have shown anything of late including this summer to signal they could be competitive in even a Senior B. All have had ample opportunity to show they deserve a prime international slot. I wouldn't send any of them at this point; they'd have to earn it.

I can finally say, though, that we got 4 great young girls worth getting excited about. Osmond is already bumped up to seniors and the 3 girls we have on the JGP are very young and developing rapidly. I can't remember the last time we had 4 girls 16 and under who had most of their triples and a few 3/3s to boot. They are all still learning their elements but I like what I see. The next Olympic cycle's going to be just fine.
