Just the Gala on Sunday. Yes!

Shorts start Friday around 1pm. So, people can come early Friday, don't have to take Thursday off if getting holiday time is going to be difficult.

Early dinners both Friday and Saturday. Tougher to fit in dinner on the Saturday, though.

IIRC the coloured schedule isn't available until much closer to the date, eys?

My mom and I are flying out Wednesday so we're able to do practices all day Thursday. I prefer to sit in the arena all day Thursday and see all short and free practices in one day, then sleep in a little on competition days. Except for Exhibition Practice on Sunday morning...LOVE that one!

Fortunately for you there's Tinder and Blendr, among other apps. :saint:

Mr. Japanfan figures that we'll take an alternative route to the Coqahalla if it is snowing. We are thinking of staying over on Sunday the 2nd but aren't sure yet.

I'd PM you, but don't know how to do that with the new board. Is it 'start a conversation'?

something is happening with their website as the members only section has been taken off and the security certificates are not working - so maybe they were hacked? Not sure.. but issues with many parts of the site.

    The link works for me.

There was a cute segment on the local news about the Kelowna skating club choosing the Flower Girls. It might be online. Check out the "Global BC News" wesbite.

Hmm, still not working for me. Tried on my laptop and my phone too. Do you have to log in as member to view the page?

Anyway, thanks for the help! Just too excited about seeing my first GP event live! :scream:

Members Only is held together with a bobby pin and a hair elastic and has been awful for a couple of years. They've built some new portals, like the info centre which is good for tech info, https://info.skatecanada.ca/hc/en-ca but that isn't helping members only at the worst time of the year where clubs are trying to register skaters to start programs. It would be like Amazon going down in December.

Tried the link to the schedule again on a different computer and got the same 404 message. And I get a privacy warning when I try to go into the Members Only section. :yikes: Definitely a problem there!

If you haven't booked your flights yet, be aware of Westjet's new checked baggage fees.

Got my tickets finally! Probably the latest I've ever bought skating tickets!
I'll be in Section 103 Row M - see you all there! :)

I heard a CBC report yesterday that said Air Canada is following suit "because everyone else is doing it."

Hey everyone. I live in Seattle and am super excited to take a quick one-hour flight to Kelowna for Skate Canada for the weekend. Already booked my flight and hotel. Haven't purchased my tickets yet. Do you guys think they will sell out soon?

I bought my all-event ticket one a week ago - website was saying sold out but when I phoned there was plenty left, and you can just ask which section you prefer. :)
I will have to pick up my tix at will call though, as she told me they did not deliver abroad.

Oh thanks for the response! I am going with a friend who knows nothing about skating and would like to pay lowest price possible so I was thinking about waiting to see if there would be a Groupon Deal or something similar. I think I will just try to get the cheapest tickets and pick them up at the arena.
