Just be prepared to have them ask you if you are a figure skater
I notice on the WFCU Centre website, there are luxury suite rentals for SC.
An FSU suite would be
I may not be able to talk for laughing if they ask either my sister or I that question.
Sis says she will bring crocheting for the down times. You think they will make her an honorary Canadian?
Anybody else get their tickets yet? We're in section 104 row I (letter I). We're behind the judges or directly across from them.
You're directly across from the judges, Dave.
I'm in Section 107, Row B, Seats 1-2. I like the corners.
Section 103, Row G.
Any chance they have Cyber Monday deals going on?
Where are you guys staying? did you book anything yet?
I was looking at Google Earth last night, and it seems there isn't much nearby.
It seems to be one of the closest, so I'm wondering if the Caesar Windsor Hotel and CASINO might be fun.
You stay there and I might be convinced to not cross the border each day.
I'm seriously considering it. I'll have to see what my mom says; she's coming with me this time.
I've booked a room at Caesar's. Should be fun!
A bit pricey but I suppose if I save up....
Cool! I'm going to book one there today!
no wonder i had such bad seats when i went to 2010 nationals. i had bought them a few months before. i guess the great seats go a year in advance.
I"m in.. All booked..
looks like we could get into lots of trouble there.. I'll check it out as likely staying there in June for the Grand Prix (car racing) in detroit..
We had decent seats (not rinkside - about 12 rows up) this year and I think we bought them about a month in advance.
oh, i was across from the judges, so i had the skaters' backs to me more often than not and i was in the highest row. i could still see, but i felt like it would have been so much better if i were closer. i think that's what is stopping me from going to see skating again -- i don't want to end up with seats again, but i doubt i'd be able to buy early enough to get the great seats.
We were across from the judges too - the only thing you really miss, IMO, is the playing to the judges and that's no real loss to me.
Maybe the sections to the left or right of the judges would work for you? Those may be available later.
So...dumb question, but what are the dates for SC? I can't find them on the website.
Oct. 26th to 28th.
Reviving this thread because I'm seriously considering going to SC if I get the time off. I'm thinking of visiting friends at U of M and then renting a car and driving to Windsor. Anyone have any experience with crossing the boarder in a rental? Is it a problem?
Also, I was wondering if anyone might be looking for a hotel roommate. I promise to try not to get ridiculously lost or have any major car troubles this year.
I doubt crossing in a rental would be an issue. In all my years I've never been asked for car papers. Whether or not I have renegade apples? Now that's a different story.
(Mom and I will probably go, but commute. Windsor is just too close to justify a hotel.)
Please check the rules - while its easy to cross into the US in a rental there are rules or used to be rules for crossing the border in Canada with a US rental. It would pity if you reached the border and were not allowed in.
I just did a quick google search, and it looks like it used to be a problem for Canadians in a US rental, but not Americans in a US rental.
However, it is good advice to check with the border crossing folks just to be sure.
And also let the rental company know.
I know Kasey did it last year, I'll have to see if I can find out what she came up with.
I'm confused - is this Skate Canada 2013?
