Allo Allo! That's about as much French as I know unfortunately.

For those that are interested, I just came accross a French article with photos of recently retired Canadian Men's Silver Medallist's voidy art. This is not entirely skating related, but it does mention Shawn Sawyer's skating so I hope this is the appropriate place for this thread.

While it was always mentioned that Sawyer was a painter, there were never any English written articles detailing his actual works of art. The last article mentioning that he currently does his projects with red wine and coffee in 2009 was also in French. Obviously since Sawyer has resided in Quebec for some time, this is understandable. I really wish I knew French. Otherwise, thank heaven for Yahoo Babelfish for folks like me to stay in the loop!

Anyway, here are both versions of the article.

My Modified Title: Wine, Coffee, and Fabric!

    French: http://bit.ly/nLToUr

    English: http://bit.ly/nAJqWv

It all depends on people's tastes, but I really like this guy's art! Seriously, can he get anymore voidy that this? :inavoid:

I am REALLY going to miss Sawyer's skating on the competitive scene. :( But great that he left on his own terms (although a very hard decision according to what he has said publicly).

I am hoping he has a long and happy professional career as either a skater, painter or coreographer. So far it looks like he could do at least 2 of the 3 so finger crossed. Fabulous! :rollin:

    Thank you for sharing.

It's wonderful to see someone like Shawn so dedicated to their vision, both as a skater and an artist.

He really is the Toller Cranston of this generation.
