Sergey Bubka's pole vault record broken by Renaud Lavillenie

    Sergey Bubka's world record has been broken by Renaud Lavilenie of France. The reigning olympic champion cleared a height of 6.16m in a competition held in Dontesk, the home city of Bubka.

    I didn't think that it was going to happen for a long time. But, congrats to him. I know he was devastated when he did not win gold at the last World Championships. This has got to make up for that!! :cheer2:

    Good for him, but I was hoping this would be one of those records that might never be beaten... but it's great for the sport and progress. Glad he did it in Bubka's home town. Nice touch.

    I think one of the other videos of it has Bubka looking on and clapping.
