wow at Nancy having more jump content than Sarah. On the other hand, to Sarah's credit, her split falling leaf is still better than a lot of today's ladies...and her toe point on her spirals is first rate.

Yes, I was  to see Nancy do a 2A.

 yes, another classic Dick-ism. (of course, I happen to agree ;))

Debi Thomas sure gave Denise Biellmann a run for her money with that bra + skirt outfit!

This has been a well put together show, nice group for a Christmas Day show when lots of non-fans might be watching with their families. Good marketing for a post-Olympic year, especially when USFSA is hoping to draw a large audience to RISE in February.

Tons of skating treats in this show:

    Debi Thomas
    Paul & Nancy skating together
Richard Dwyer with Tai, Tenley, Jojo and Linda Fratianne
Richard Dwyer and Brian Boitano duet

There's still a half hour left, but if it re-airs I highly recommend it - a little light on the skating and a little different than the usual skating show - but rich with history and worth the time.

I'm sorry for what they "chacked"; yet, I'm grateful for how much they are showing.

I know that can't have everyone, but where on earth was Michelle Kwan? How can they even consider to do a show like this without her? She epitomizes being the American champion.

And how about Ben Agosto & Tanith Belbin?

They pretty well hit most of the past folks and it was wonderful for me to see Paul Wylie & Brian Boitano skate. I so miss their skating. Loved seeing Paul & Nancy's "Miss Saigon" pairs program again. She always looks (and looked) so happy when she skates with him.

Here's who did make the broadcast as best as I can remember:

    Women:
Tenley Albright - interviewed and on ice for group number with Richard Dwyer
Sasha Cohen - entire skate shown
Caryn Kadavy - performance highlights only
    Peggy Fleming - host/introducer
Sarah Hughes - entire skate shown
Nancy Kerrigan - entire solo skate shown and skate with Paul Wylie shown
Kimmie Meissner - performance highlights only
Rosalynn Sumners - did not catch Rosalynn if they showed her
Debi Thomas - entire skate shown
    Kristi Yamaguchi - interviewed

    Men:
Brian Boitano - on ice for group number with RD/JS/TA/LF/TB
Dick Button - spoke as honoree
Richard Dwyer - on ice for group number
Todd Eldredge - performance highlights only
Rudy Galindo - entire skate shown
Scott Hamilton - introduced Dick Button
Evan Lysacek - entire skate shown
Michael Weiss - was in non-show highlight/interview pieces
Paul Wylie - on ice with Nancy

    Pairs:
Tai Babiliona & Randy Gardner - interviewed
Kitty & Peter Carruthers - did not catch them if they were on....
Jenni Meno & Todd Sand - performance highlights only
JoJo Starbuck & Ken Shelley - only saw Jojo in the group number
Carla Urbanski & Rocky Marvel - performance highlights only

    Dance
Naomi Lang & Peter Tchernyshev - performance highlights only

Not listed above, but Tara was interviewed and skated in the finale.

Glad I was not the only one who thought this. It's a pretty big omission on their part IMHO.

Roz was not at the show, nor were Kitty & Peter. They were advertised but weren't there.

Loved the live show, enjoyed the broadcast, but VERY upset that several excellent performances were not shown in their entirety in the broadcast - Todd's Mike's, Calla & Rocky (who really brought the house down), etc. I hope that TPTB consider making a DVD of the ENTIRE show. I hate to see anyone get "chacked!"

It was good to see Debi skate again - I love her body and she looked great. But I wasn't overwhelmed by the skating overall..

Tanith and Ben and Meryl and Charlie were shown on the big screen during the live show but this all was chacked in the broadcast. In fact everything about ice dance that was said during the show (which wasn't that much anyway) was totally chacked for the broadcast.

Well, I'm going to say it here - the TV audience was robbed of several outstanding performances. No excuses for that! :(

She certainly looks great, and she skated pretty darn well for a 43-year-old orthopedic surgeon who hasn't performed in many years!

    Amen!

I was quite amazed at how well Calla & Rocky skated as I don't think they've performed together in years.

I enjoyed it for what it was: a different type of skating show. Some of my favorite segments included footage of older skaters. I wish I had seen more of that. Also, I loved that the musical entertainment did not compete with the skaters!

Since most of the people we saw in the broadcast no longer skate (or at least, in public) I was pleased with what I did see. Those of you who attended the show have your memories of the actual event, and nothing can compete with that.

Between Richard Dwyer's shameless flirting and Nancy and Paul's recreation of a special moment in time, I am :swoon:

ps: if they do release a DVD, I will certainly buy it

The best part was no cutting away for musicians! I would have loved to see the other skaters who were there live. Stupid question - didn't Rudy have AIDS (or maybe was just HIV positive?) and was really sick for awhile there? He sure looks healthy now. So wonderful to see him on the ice.

Does anyone else want to drag out their VCR and tapes from the 80s and 90s? Am I just old or was skating more interesting back then. And does anyone else miss the World Pro competitions? "Meeeeeem-reeeeees". Oh well.

I think Rudy was just diagnosed HIV positive. I don't remember hearing that he was really sick. He also had a double hip replacement but seemed to bounce back from that and continued skating for awhile after that, I think until Champions on Ice folded.

Rudi is coaching now. He looks a bit heavy but skated pretty well for bilat hip replacements!

I loved this show for most of the reasons everyone else stated. It was wonderful to see skaters who have pretty much retired back on the ice. Nancy esp. looked happy and well.

I think I read somewhere that they are considering doing a DVD, that would be nice to have the programs that didn't make the broadcast. I thought it was a great show that was filled with nostalgia. This backstage video is fun, especially Dick Button and his bunny ears move...
