I'll skip it all but will look at the results. About how I view ice dance. :)

The awards ceremony has started. Not loving Michelle's dress. It would look a lot better without the lace.

Jonah Hill is the only one I've seen in the first category, but he can't possibly be the best.

Actor in a Supporting Role - Christopher Plummer (Oscar favorite)

I keep thinking of Michelle in Dawsons Creek. :) She's changed so much.

Actress in a Supporting Role - Octavia Spencer, another favorite for Oscar

Not surprised that Octavia Spencer won. She was really good in The Help. I think the help might win for best ensemble, too.

Outstanding Cast, Comedy Series - Modern Family

I don't know why I don't watch it, it looks hilarious.

Web sites lighting up about Alec Baldwin dropping a few pounds. I rewound by TiVo, there's no way he's drinking, at least not much. ;)

Outstanding Female Actor, TV, Miniseries, etc. - Kate Winset, Mildred Pierce - she's not there

Outstanding Male Actor, TV, Miniseries, etc. - Paul Giamtti - he's not there

Kind of fun to see both Julianna Marguilies and George Clooney nominated. ER was really the big break for both of them.

Did Mayim Bialik chop her hair off or is it just the way it is styled and the angle of the photo?

I'm glad Kyle Chandler at least got a nomination for his final season. I wonder what he's doing now. I'll pretty much watch whatever he's in.

Meryl never dresses as well as her character in The Devil Wears Prada did. She's worn worse, though.

Who back then would have thought Brenda Jenkins would be one of the most consistently employed actors in Hollywood? And she's barely aged a day.:swoon:

I kind of love that both Clooney and Pitt lost the battle of the movie stars. I haven't seen The Artist and was kind of rooting for Bichir, but this is good.

I am glad the french actor won because I didn't want it to be George Clooney. Even Brad Pitt would have been a better choice.

Wowza, new favorite for the Oscar? Was rather expecting Streep to take it but with this win I think Viola has to be considered the favorite to win now. It's going to be close me thinks. Not even Williams is out of it yet

I don't think Viola Davis is that much of a suprise. Meryl Streep herself recently wrote a piece for EW about Viola Davis.

I would get such a kick out of it if Bridesmaids won, but I do think The Help deserves it.

I had never seen Emma Stone until this past year, but I've become a fan. She was good in both The Help and Crazy, Stupid Love.

I finally saw The Descendants and was pleasantly surprised at how good Clooney was. I'm not much of a fan, but I think that he would've deserved it if he won.

I adored Jean Dujardin in The Artist, though, and I'm rooting for him to win the Oscar.

I agree that Clooney was really good. I haven't seen The Artist, so I don't know who was better. But, with all the talk of Clooney v. Pitt, it was fun to see someone else win.

Sounds like Dujardin gave a delightful acceptance speech. I know he gave a delightful performance! Glad he won.

I don't think it's hate so much as thinking there are more deserving performances. I like Clooney and still think he's mighty pretty, but he always, IMO, seems to be playing himself.
