Oh dear goodness that's such a tragedy. She really was the kindest, sweetest woman you could ever want to meet and the sport is so much better off for having her as an ambassador. She will be greatly missed.

Very sad news. My very first pair of skates were endorsed by her, had her name ingraved on the blade. I remember my mother explaining to me who she was. This would have been around 1962 or so.

    Rest in peace Ms. Scott.

    And thank you.

Every time I saw her at a Canadian skating event, she was the epitome of class and grace. Her passing is a great loss to Canada and skating.

    RIP

A true legend. Canadian Champion, North American Champion, European Champion, World Champion, Olympic Champion, and the first woman to perform the 2Lz in international competition ... Then 20 years later she was recognized as an accomplished equestrian. She made good use of her time :)

How very sad. I must say it is so wonderful that so many comments come from all over the world from people from all walks of life (okay, we all love figure skating). What a wonderful accomplishment not only to have won an Olympic gold medal, but to have won the hearts of millions. Then to retain that respect for decades after through grace, humility and giving back. What a wonderful woman she was. R.I.P.
