Terribly sad; and wonderful at the same time.
Her legacy will continue, thanks to those generous donors.

My condolences to her family and friends.
    Such a lovely young woman.

    RIP, Claire.

After tax breaks due to gift aid the total is well in excess of £500,000. Just a great reaction from the British public which is more than welcome when all we hear about is doom and gloom and how British society is finished. Clearly there are decent people out there after all.

But her poor family. :( Having lost a son to an overdose, to lose their daughter under these circumstances - running in his memory - must be beyond heartbreaking. Such a giving family who clearly do way above and beyond what most do. RIP Claire and sincere condolences to her family at this tragic time. I hope the public response is of some comfort to them.

How tragic for her family and friends, but what a lovely outpouring of support.
