It was stoopid when Weaveonce' sang it; Liza doesn't help matters much. Whatever "street cred" the song had has gone the way of Liza's sobriety.
OMG....This is gold....but in a car crash kind of way.
(I wonder what Kurt Hummell would think.)
I lurve the end - 'ooooooooh, oooooh, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!'
This comes close to the Ethel Merman Disco Album.
I can just imagine Liza lurching down Broadway in the music video.
I must have that!!!
Trying to do those Gwen Verdon/Beyonce moves?
It's HORRID!!! One of my old drinking buddies was a shot-tune freak, and he got this album. We all went to his house for brunch one day and he played this for us - it was hysterical. Poor Ethel, bless her heart.
I'm sure there is a download of this somewhere. Try Bit Torrent.
ooh ooooooooooooooooooooooh oooooooooOOOOO000000000000ooooooooohhhh
"Oy've fallen and Oy can't get up"
Isn't there a clip of Bette Davis doing a rock and roll performance on Ed Sullivan somewhere?
Beyonce busts a move...and Liza breaks a hip (or drops her pills)
I'm pretty sure there will be a video in the movie.
I will say that I now know the actual words to this song thanks to Liza's over-enunciation and, while still silly fluff, it makes more sense now
It's too bad Rhino no longer does the "Golden Throats" series of albums (the link has the track lists and "artists"). This would fit perfectly.
Well, it's no worse than the original version. Just bad in a different and funny kind of way.
It was a horrible song and insulting to most ears! Liza might make it better!
I had the firm belief that nothing could be worse than Bob Dylan's Christmas album... WRONG!! At least Bob's made me laugh, this is just painful.
Was just thinking she better not try that choreography or those plastic hips will go popping out her ass.
I'm still smiling over "Wrinkled Ladies" on youtube. "If you like it then you should have put some cream on it...." (or something like that).
That's probably the only good thing in this....this....movie.
The People For "Ferris Bueller Takes An Illegal FMLA Day"
All of a sudden I want to hear Pat Boone's "In a Metal Mood" album again...
That's what I was thinking. From all I'm hearing, this is the funniest thing about the movie.
Howling on the FMLA day. Actually SATC2 will be super over the top for the clothes from everything I have read, and that alone will sustain me. Plus I could watch John Corbett read the dictionary - he is stunning. It helps me get past his far right wing politics and causes.
I want to know how it is possible that Rhino never memorialized a copy of "Granny's Miniskirt," sung by the Beverly Hillbillies' Granny, on a disc.
The classics just don't get their proper respect.
The end is the best!!
But I have to give special mention to hearing Liza Minelli sing the words "Up in the club" or "Up on him, he's up on me".
OMG that is just awful.
Reminds me of Mae West singing "Twist and Shout"
Now can you imagine Mae West doing "Single Ladies". That would be a classic.
