    Justin Beiber is touring Australia.

It is just skary seeing these 10-12 year olds on the news going batshit crazy over him.

Every generation has their teen heart throbs. Just let them have their fun and smile indulgently. And remember that one day they'll be 40 y/o moms with tweens fainting over some saccharine sweet baby-faced crooner.

And teens were so much more refined when the Beatles landed in America. At least I was :p

Relax - in 2 years there will be a new heart throb.

This weekend a radio station in Stratford, Ontario (the Beeb's home town) had "Justin Bieber Day" - two of every three songs they played for a day were Justin Bieber songs.

Yes, if you were wondering, he *doesn't* have that many songs, and apaprently it was pretty much unlistenable after the first couple of hours. Unless you like hearing MANY repeats of "baby, baby, baby, baby....."

I can't believe I'm saying this, but, as far as recent teen pop stars go, I find JB among the least offensive. His music is bubble gum, but he does seem to have some actually talent. He just might become a "real artist" once he's through puberty. And in interviews I actually find him sort of charming and witty...:slinkaway

I remember being 13 years old and going absolutely nuts for the Rolling Stones...my poor dad! Let the kids have their idol. It's all a part of the wonder of being a teenager.

One of the skating rinks here promoted one of their days as alternative music only, with a "Bieber free zone". I was very tempted to skate on those days.

We also told a girl at the rink who had Bieber on her ipod playing over the soundsystem during a figure session to turn it off (it was a collective asking). We had allowed the S Club but drew the limit at Bieber.

He reminds me of my infatuation over Donny Osmond when I was 15. ;)

Back in the late 90's when the boybands were all the rage, one of the high level skaters at our rink made a rule that NSync could only be played once every twenty minutes on training sessions. Everyone listened to him because he was the only one with a real shot at making it to nationals, lol.

I've yet to experience an excessive amount of Bieber at our rink, but a few summers ago there was so much Rhianna that I thought I might have to hurt someone.

I haven't heard much Bieber at our rink, but man do we hear Lady Gaga NON STOP!

Sure beats ice dance compulsory music CDs though!

I normally don't have a problem with the teen acts (because I was such an *NSYNC fan) but Bieber is a douche bag. He just acts like such a young child. He's 17, an age where you might want to start growing up a tad. Not saying he has to start looking for Denny's Early Bird coupons but not acting like you're 12 is a start.

    That is correct.
