What about Andrea poapst? she is no longer on IPS did she find a partner?
Tiffany Vise & Don Baldwin are retiring from competition and Tim Koleto (6th in Junior Men at 2012 U.S. Nationals) has formed a new ice dancing partnership with Yura Min and they hope to compete at Korean Nationals: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130404&content_id=43859796&vkey=ice_news
Quote from Tiffany Vise:
ETA that I've cross-posted this news in the U.S. Pairs thread: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...ates-Part-II&p=3893000&viewfull=1#post3893000
Yura Min split from Igor Ogay after placing 11th in Junior Dance at U.S. Nationals.
Excerpts from the article:
I will miss seeing Tiffany and Don at Nationals. I wish them the best of luck in anything they do.
Tim Koleto has wonderful musicality and ice dance should be a great place for him!
The momentous thing about this announcement is that I don't remember a Nationals (that I have attended - since 1990) that hasn't had a Baldwin there. Mr and Mrs. Baldwin Sr. will feel pretty lost, I imagine.
When will Rena & John's daughter be old enough for the youngest bracket, since junior nationals is now run together with nationals...it won't be that long, unless Rena & John's daughter is the first Baldwin in forever not to skate.
In case anyone missed this update on Tiffany Zahorski that was posted on March 30 in the French news thread: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...-Fran%E7aise&p=3889191&viewfull=1#post3889191
ETA the link to Zahorski's IPS profile: http://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=4185
Juvenile is the first level of jr. nats. The skaters have to be under 14 years old. There isn't a minimum age. You have a bit to wait though. I know of a pair girl who went at 11 from a nearby rink.
I think there has been an occasional 8-year-old at Junior Nationals in juvenile pairs and dance. So a girl who starts training young with good coaches and/or a good partner could conceivably make it by age 8. Don't bet on it though.
Anna Nagornyuk (who compated for Uzbekistan with Viktor Kovalenko at worlds, 4CCs, and junior worlds) is on IPS http://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=4411
5 dance teams from 2013 Junior Worlds that are aging out next season have split: Nagornyuk/Kovalenko (UZB), Busi/A. Fabbri (ITA), Prochazkova/Ceska (CZE), Aghai/Partanen (FIN)-based in Vancouver, Allik/Bellantuono (EST)-based at Detroit SC.
Currently listed on IPS:
Anna Nagornyuk, 17 (Russia)
Johanna Allik, 19
Alessia Busi, 19 in May
Karolina Prochazkova, 19 & Michal Ceska, 21
Jussiville Partanen, 21
Pair split: Elizaveta Usmantseva / Sergei Kulbach (UKR), age 20 - they competed at 2012 NRW Trophy & 2013 Nesquik Cup but did not attain minimum scores for 2013 Euros. He's listed on IPS - his old ISU bio: http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00012937.htm
ETA an update:
She's no longer listed on IPS; Kyle MacMillan, age 15, currently is listed on IPS.
A new thread was started in the Trash Can today that contains updates: New Canadian Partnerships for the 2013-2014 season
I recently posted about Hayleigh Bell (she's 16) being listed on IPS in the Canadian Pairs news thread in GSD: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...-and-updates&p=3904198&viewfull=1#post3904198
Sylvia, Alessia's surname has just one "s" (BUSI). I am sorry to hear they split, I saw them skate live at Junior Worlds last month and I really liked them. Thanks for the infos about those splits btw
Belated thanks for the spelling correction - I think I had "Busi" originally and have since corrected my post (#100).
Lubov Ilyushechkina has re-listed herself on IPS (she was training with Yannick Kocon in France this past season): http://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=4426
Re-posting from the French Nationals thread in Kiss and Cry in December 2012:
Sebastian Arcieri (JGP pairs for CAN with Natasha Purich this past season): http://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=4422
It's absolutely disgusting that the Russian Federation has refused to release her after everything that has happened.
Karolina Prochazkova (CZE) was teaming up with the younger Fabbri brother (Andrea, ITA) and they will be training in Milano under Barbara Fusar-Poli. As they both were taking part at Junior Worlds 2013 they have nearly a season to decide which country to represent for.
Michal Ceska is still looking for a partner, currently he will be heading to Canada in June/July to have some try outs there (do not know the girls names).
Kulbach's former partner listed in the ISU bio linked above, Natalja Zabijako (EST), has teamed up with Alexander Zaboev (CZE) and they are representing Estonia. They competed a Senior Pairs SP (44.06) last weekend at the May Day Open club comp. in Maryland: http://www.gardensfsc.org/May Day Open/2013Results/IJScompanion_html/SEG014.html
Found their May Day video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkzq_Bh8oyQ
Zaboev's old ISU bio: http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00012794.htm
ETA: Former U.S. JGP dance competitor Ryan Devereaux, now 24, is listed on IPS. He was 5th in Junior Dance at 2008 U.S. Nationals with Shannon Wingle and retired to go to college.
Good for him. Any idea what major/field he got his degree in? 24 is still a peak age for a male ice dancer, and it's certainly a way to ward off the cubicle-weight-gain if he's already moved into a career job.
Assuming he's graduated with his undergrad (or even masters?), it'll be interesting to see if he finds a partner whether he will manage full-time work in his field or opts to work part-time/free-lance/coaches/pursue a higher degree... or focus only on training. Either way, good luck to him!
After the Finnish junior ice dance couple Sara Afgai (she is actually a Canadian with Iranese roots) and Jussiville Partanen split, Jussiville is back training in Finland, and has a new partner, Cecilia Törn, who used to be a single skater and represented Finland in 2011 European Championships in Bern.
Great to see Cecilia back on the ice and Jussiville finding a new partner!
... and his former partner Alexandra Herbrikova is skating in France with Swiss Nicolas Roulet and would love to skate fro Switzerland next season.
i hope juicyville takes off because this is one great name
That's wonderful news! When he was dancing with Aghai, we got to see him at BC Summerskate. He's a very nice skater, and, like most dancers, easy on the eyes.
Would anyone have info on Walden & Edwards GBR and Gorshkova & Butikov RUS, have they retired ?
Louise Walden/Owen Edwards announced their retirement recently (ETA: see my post below for the source link).
U.S. senior national & international ice dancer Charlotte Maxwell, now 23, recently listed herself on IPS: http://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=4435
Oh wow thanks Sylvia that was quick, tho i am sad W&E have retired , I think they retired at the right time and perhaps they wanted to go on with other
things in their lives, best of luck to them
Walden/Edwards' announcement on their official site (May 1, 2013): http://britishicedancing.com/news/walden-edwards-looking-to-the-future/
Thanks for the link Sylvia . They really have a good plan in place good for them!!!
Törn/Partanen are registered for the Senior Dance event at Minto Summer Skate in Ottawa, Canada - link to the Canadian Summer Competitions thread in Kiss and Cry: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...Competitions&p=3950519&viewfull=1#post3950519
These 3 new Junior dance teams have registered for Minto SS (all coached by Wing & Lowe, I believe?):
Jessica Jiang / Tyler A Miller
Brianna M Delmaestro / Timothy Lum
Whitney Miller / Shane T Firus (Miller competed in a JGP for USA last season & was 6th in Jr. dance at 2013 U.S. Nationals)
ETA link to the Canadian Pairs thread in GSD where all the known new teams to date are listed, including USA's Caitlin Fields & Sebastian Arcieri who are JGP age-eligible and training in Montreal: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/sho...-and-updates&p=3948746&viewfull=1#post3948746
ETA #2: Anjelika Ilieva (BUL) is newly listed on IPS - her pair partner on the JGP last season was Pavel Petrov Savinov (he is 21 and has aged out): www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00013896.htm
Alexis Miart (FRA) listed himself on IPS as of July 2nd: http://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=4461
Maybe Anissina will skate with him.
Separate names with a comma.
