Damn I saw these kids on the View and they make me cry. I guess it is the touching moment that the producers were hoping to get if the show tanked.

These kids are singing really well and are so adorable. And I usually hate kids.

Many of these kids apparently go to the James Franco school of close-eye performing.

How appropriate they end the show with a bunch of kids singing. It's been like a bad grade school production all night. :p

Oh, the kids are so cute :swoon: :)
The ending of this Oscar ceremony was much better than the beginning.

BTW, Congrats to The King's Speech!
    Loved that movie!

15 producers on this movie. Heard a story the other day on NPR about how difficult it was to get financing and distribution for this film. Glad it won over the blockbusters.

And as much as I loved Toy Story 3, it looked very out of place up there in the top 10.

What's with the kids up there? Celine too busy to sing again? Loved Melissa Leo singing along. :)

Franco was really out of place at the end, rambling and off track. Hathaway deserved an Oscar for not tossing him offstage. :p

Yeah, I think she was really trying too.

Franco will always have General Hospital.

And I'm saying that as someone who does watch GH

I think Anne Hathaway took speed to compensate for Jame Franco being completely stoned.

Does this mean I lost a bet with the hubby that Anne would lose her voice from all the squealing?

And Anne is thrilled, thrilled, thrilled to have that over. Probably the happiest person there.

They seemed to really try to keep things moving with fewer tributes and more time to actually play all the songs, but it ended up seeming pretty mechanical.

Cute ending though, and I liked seeing all the winners come back onstage with their Oscars.

I'm getting teary watching this and I have no idea why. I guess it's the contrast between these young kids who are just getting started on figuring out their dreams and all the winners on stage who just saw some of theirs come true. :)

Wow that's cheesy. Time to go to bed for me, LMAO

no - but David Letterman among others have said how difficult the years following blowing it at the Oscars were. And unless someone is willing to invest in them right away...

I"m so happy for Colin Firth, but I have to say this is by far the worst Oscar ceremony I've ever seen and I've been around for a whole shitload of them.

Made me long for David Niven and the streaker.

Yeah, last year they made the right choice IMO with The Hurt Locker, so I think they wanted to get back to their usual pattern this year.
