Yes. Sonia Lafuente has been training in Toronto for a while now. That's David Wilson in the hat, right?

    Article in Russian (Glebova): http://rsport.ru/figure_skating/20140521/747550864.html

Viktoria Helgesson showed off a photo of her brand new Edea skates on Instagram today. She also shared a photo of her and sister Joshi with choreographer Catarina Lindgren in Sweden last week - the photo is also published in Victoria's May 19th blog post titled "New Programs!": http://viktoriahelgesson.se/nya-program/ (Google Translation in English)
She wrote she will use lyrics in both of her programs.

I'm glad VH is continuing. I was worried she might throw in the towel after she didn't skate well in Sochi.

I guess this means that Hendrickx is getting his programs done by David Wilson. I am not exactly thrilled but then, he's most likely going to do a better job than what Folle gave him last season (both of his programs were really bland). His basics aren't bad and he's got that special something, at least in my eyes. I would really like him to get choreography which is going to take his skating to the next level.

And not just in Sochi. The entire last season was an absolute disaster for her. I hope she can bounce back and regain her jumps because she has strong edges and is an elegant skater. An archetypal lady (and in a good way ;)).

Aw, really? I was just beginning to like Plutowska and Gerber. I can't remember.. did Lucie Mysliveckova and Neil Brown split up?

ETA: Of course, that doesn't really have much relevance since Mysliveckova isn't Polish but Czech. Oops.

Israel's netta Schreiber has been spotted at the cricket club with orser'steam/barkell. Unsure if the move is a tryout, or permanent.

Damn! Working with Shpilband has brought great results in a relatively short space of time and I thought that they had a lot of potential. There aren't any Polish female Ice Dancers anywhere near Gerber's level available unfortunately but he can probably find somebody in Canada or US.

Sorry, Ziggy. :( If Gerber has to look outside of Poland, I hope he can find a suitable partner who can obtain Polish citizenship by 2018.

So who is Myslivechkova skating with now and is there any chance the Czech federation will get rid of Ukolova?

Cross posting from another thread, as this is probably a more relevant place for it! Thanks to Sylvia for pointing me here! :)

From Danielle Montalbano's Facebook page....Hopefully an official announcement isn't far behind?

"I have had a long 2 years, ups and downs.. (more ups) I wasn't sure I was going to be able to continue doing what I love, with injuries, emotions, finances.. then came a decision. I'm glad to say my ankle is 100% healed, my mind is strong and I have a few more dreams to fulfill and plenty of hard work and fighting spirits left in my mind, body and soul. On July 7th I will move to Florida to start the next chapter of my amazing journey, which will be in pairs once again. thank you to my amazing family and boyfriend for supporting me through everything!"

Wonderful news that Danielle found a partner. I will be waiting and watching for this team. She deserves the best after the most difficult years I have seen !! I respect her loyalty to stay with Israel, although I have heard she was offered monetary compensation to skate for another country, and she turned it down.......hmmm...that is definitely loyalty since she is having difficulty now making it with the move . I applaud you Danielle and your convictions.:)

You must not have been following skating very long, in that case.

I do wish Montalbano well, but I will reserve judgment on her new partnership until I've seen them compete.

Could it be maybe a short-term training camp? She is still quite young and I wonder how open she and her family would be to relocating like that for her training.

People are entitled to have their favorite skaters and to wish them well. What's the harm in wanting to see someone succeed? You don't have to like the skater or agree with other people here, but it's not necessary to be rude to the ones who do show support. If you dislike the skater so much, why bother partaking in the conversation at all? Just keep scrolling....Damn.

This is the OES news thread, not an uber thread. Are you under the impression that FSU is meant only for positive discussions?

Nobody has anything against Montalbano personally. Some people just don't feel that she is a great skater, or has dealt with more adversity than others, or any number of other statements made by some of her fans.

It wasn't intended to become an uber and no one said FSU should only be a place for positive discussion. I don't think you have something against her but it's clear someone does....I'm not here to take up a personal battle with anyone and so I'll refrain from continuing this conversation further.

If I hear any news about the partnership becoming official I will post here. I'm excited to see her return to pairs and wish them all the best.

I hope Richard Lundberg (SWE), age 22, can find a partner - he recently updated his IPS pairs profile: http://icepartnersearch.com/showbio.php?i=4846

He used to compete junior pairs with his sister, Michelle, and they skated in last month's "Infinity" show in Malmö, Sweden - report and photos: http://www.absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=articles&id=2014infinity

May 2014 interview with Carolina Moscheni and Ádám Lukács (HUN), who placed 14th in the ice dance event at 2014 Junior Worlds: http://www.absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=interviews&id=2014moschenilukacs
They have one more season of ISU junior age eligibility in 2014-15: http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00014261.htm

    1/ Pavel Kaska
2/ Never, she is currently a Czech Citizen after 10 years waiting period (and we always need somebody for the Worst AntiPSOTY skater Award).

Another news: Novak once again quit, so Kubova is looking. Alexandr Sinicyn (son of coaches and former Ice Dance partners Karamysheva/Sinicyn) has teamed up with Nicole Kuzmich (Canadian, skating for SLO) and would like to skate juniors. Michal´s get back to Obertsdorf was already announced.

Anna Duskova is going for the 3Lz and quite succesfully (seing most of them landed on my own eyes) and they (with Martin Bidar) are working on 3Tw.

One small adding to the Plutowska/Gerber split: she came to the Fed she is satisfied she was at Worlds and would never ever love to train anymore. Peter Gerber will be trying with two Polish girls (don´t know the names) but the chance for a Polish only team is small.

BTW, going through Congress pictures - Susanna Rahkamo is still unbeliavably fit :) .
