As of my last check of their site, he's on his way to North Dakota in the next few minutes. The CBC's got a great story of how they keep track of Santa and make sure he has a safe trip tonight...

CBC News ~ Santa Claus comes to town and Norad has him on radar

Some of the calls NORAD fielded tonight. The first one had me blinking back tears...

He most certainly is and I don't know what we or he would do w/out the wonderful group of honorary Elves at NORAD who help him out every Christmas.

BTW...I saw on the News one of the many Officers who were working tonight tracking Santa and he was told by his little boy before he left to remember that Santa's a Friend and not to shoot him down as a mistake. He grinned and said something along the lines of how he's got his Orders for the night and they came from someone of far higher rank than his Commanding Officer...LOL!!! :D

I was in charge of monitoring his progress on the Norad site yesterday in our household and the kids just love it. They do a great job bringing a little bit of happiness into the world.

My cousin works at Pearson as an Air Traffic Controller (He was on duty September 11th and calls that the worst and scariest day he ever spent on the job. That's a story for a different day and thread though...) and last year he had to work Christmas Eve. He ended up taking the call from Sick Kids asking if Pearson had him on Radar yet.

Roger said he told them they were in constant contact w/NORAD and that yes, Santa was on track to the Toronto area w/in an hour or two. Knowing him and watching his face while he told us about this, I can so easily hear him on that phone this time last year. :D He had a ball doing it too.
