Since the "favourites" fever seems to be going around FSU lately, i thought that I'd join the fun, I went though the last decade of WC's and gathered the list of the ladies that medaled but never earned, or have yet to earn, the World/Olympic Title. To make it more fun I thought I'd also turn this into a survivor competition, eliminating the two ladies with the fewest vote each round (if the thread is successful that is ) until we get our :encore::glamor: Champion :glamor::encore:

Here are some performances from these ladies (not necessarily their medal winning performances) I unfortunately ran out of space for Kerrigan on the poll, sorry :shuffle:

So go on and vote for your favourite!! :D

    Alena Leonova 2012 World Silver

    Akiko Suzuki 2012 World Bronze

    Laura Lepisto 2010 World Bronze

Joannie Rochette 2009 World Silver,2010 Olympic Bronze

Fumie Suguri 2002/03 World Bronze, 2006 World Silver

Sasha Cohen 2004/05 World Silver, 2006 World Bronze/Olympic Silver

    Elena Sokolova 2003 World Silver

    Julia Soldatova 1999 World Bronze

    Vanessa Gusmeroli 1997 world Bronze

    Nicole Bokek 1995 World Bronze

    Surya Bonaly 1993/94/95 World Silver

    Tanja Szewczenko 1994 World Bronze

I voted for Lepisto but missed Soldatova, otherwise it would have been her.

Wait, is this Round 1 of "Survivor," where we vote for the one we want out, or a vote for our favorites. The thread title and poll title point in opposite directions.

The two ladies with the fewest votes each round will be eliminated, sorry for the confusion :)

Woops, my bad, I voted for who I thought was worst, lol! Sasha having the most votes shocked me, then I realized what the poll meant.

Surya is my favorite. I'll vote for her as long as she's in it. :)

Thank you ! I was hesitating between Surya and Vanessa, so, for the same reason, I'll vote for Vanessa Gusmeroli !

I voted for Joannie, not only because I liked her skating, but loved her ability to keep it together in the worst of circumstances. imho, she showed amazing bravery and grace in her 2010 performances.

Surya all the way! She should have been 2 time world champion ('93 and '94), but hey- it wasn't in the cards for her

This is hard, out of those on the list, I really enjoy Leonova, Rochette, Sokolova, Gusmeroli and Bonaly. But, I'm going to have to give my vote to incomparable Surya. Her 1994 SP is still exciting to watch: http://youtu.be/AOkGmPdIAO8

I would have voted for Cohen.

But since I know she'll get enough votes to stay in the poll until the end, I voted to keep someone else instead. Not saying who. :p

Might be easier to vote for who to eliminate instead of who to keep.

    Voted for Cohen.

Loved her costumes as much as her spins and spirals. :swoon:

Tanja Szewczenko deserves as much love as we can give. When I think of her, it makes me wish Germany's skating program would be a comeback in all four disciplines.
