I'm going to miss Amy and Rory. :wuzrobbed

I wish I could find someone who would guard my tomb for 2,000 years. :wuzrobbed

Btw, there will be Doctor Who marathons on BBC America on Friday and Saturday. I was perusing the DVR listings the other day and I think there were more than the five episodes mentioned in the article. May have been wishful thinking though.

And for Canadians, same time different channel: Space at 6 PST / 9 EST.

    http://www.spacecast.com/Doctor-Who.aspx

Space has been showing a bunch of "best of" docs over the past couple of weeks: The Women of Doctor Who, The Timey-Wimey of Doctor Who, The Destinations of Doctor Who, etc. Nothing new or universe-shattering, but still fun to watch. (They're online too at the Space web site, don't know if they're geoblocked tho.)

And to keep you going til then ... episode 1 of "Pond Life," described as "the new 5 part mini-adventure, with a new part every day, featuring the Doctor, Amy, Rory and some surprise familiar faces! En route to visit the Ponds the TARDIS' Helmic Regulator malfunctions, leaving the Doctor popping up everywhere in time and space. Will he ever make it back to them?"

The 30-second season trailer on Space
shows a quick image of River, so I'd say that's a definite. :D But even without that I would have been very, very surprised if they didn't bring River back. Aside from the awesomeness of her character, her presence is now critical to the family dynamic onboard the Tardis.

It's a good trailer, btw, does a good job of teasing without really giving anything away.

Just stumbled upon this on the Space site: interview with John Barrowman.

No Torchwood news :( but still a good interview.

OK I tried the spoiler box and it didn't work for those - but it's kinda funny. So I left it.

Oswin was played by Jenna-Louise Coleman who is the new companion after the Ponds leave. How is THAT gonna work? Will the new companion be an ancestor, a twin sister, a Tesselecta, does the Doctor go back to the past to find her because he likes her so much???

... and HOW did they keep her appearance in episode one a secret???

    "Doctor...Who?"

(Though, honestly, it's getting hard to do anything with the Daleks otherwise because HOW many times have they been totally wiped out? In the new series alone? Never mind Classic Who.)

I'm seriously impressed that the show managed to keep that under wraps.

And I think it would be incredibly cool for the Doctor to have a converted Dalek who still thinks she's human as a companion. That would make all the "The Doctor's never met anyone like her before!" hype true for once. (I know it can't happen, but it sure would be different.)

I really liked the episode, but I've come to realize that I do not care one whit about Amy and Rory's relationship and I'm not going to miss any of it when they're gone.

I like that what they've done here, is basically rebooted the whole Doctor-Dalek relationship - from the Daleks perspective at least. It lets Moffat do all kinds of new/old things with them.

I also wonder if the Dalek will figure in some kind of series arc. After all, if she's a genius too, she may have figured out a way to get her Dalek self off the planet.

Ok, just started a new thread for Season 7. Might I respectfully suggest we move over there ... unless you really do have something specific to the new companion and not the new season in general.

    I'm not really OCD ... :D
