Hmmm, body wise, Maria K looks alike Anna Kournikova. :slinkaway

    Plays like her too.

Maria K does look stronger. She's lean but you can see the muscle tone.

Barbara Schett, Barbara Paulus and Judith Wiesner all are former Austrians in the top ten.

Tamira's father is Ariff Mohammed, who is Tanzanian born Kenyan-raised Canadian of Indian descent. Her Mother is Chilean born Austrian.

    She is a walking UN...

Hmm not really tall. Very blonde, pretty. Good all court game, and yes had a good serve and gorgeous stroke production. Got to about no. 7 about ten years ago and beat Venus at RG once. Now does lots of work for Eurosport (and is very good at it)

I'm already seeing a difference in Vika's game with the addition of Amelie into her coaching staff. The slice backhand is looking fantastic.

I know she was "considering" it. When did this happen? Right before Wimbledon?

Well maybe she should hire Amelie back because her slice backhand looks better.

 But then the whole atmosphere is lost ...

    Yes please :D

Yeah, I don't mind the grunts it's that dreadful loooong wailing/screeching thing - the men do not do that. I agree it sounds like an affectation or gamesmanship.

It's a shame Paszek's serve is so crap.

I don't know her last service game looked OK to me. But I still favour Viki to win this!!

She doesn't get a high first serve %, and her second serve is a puffball. She's been serving well, but that's not normally the case.

Yes I agree that her serve needs to be beefed up - especially that second serve as the rest of her game is very good.

Viki gets a second chanceto serve this out - lets see if she can do it this time!!

Paszek's serve is :yikes: I don't even trust her being 40-0 up.

Vika serving for it a 2nd time.

And apparently A-Rad-Masha K. will follow them on CC to finish their match.

Well we will have to see if that is the case as this can still go the a 3rd set what with the way Viki is having an issue serving it out

    Well done Vika!

I'm definitely a Tamira fan after the last few weeks though!

    And now it's A-Rad/Masha K. time!!

Finally Viki does it - that sets up a semi vs Serena and that couod be a good match.

Now to see the end of the final quarter - finally a good decision from the organisers!!

Love how the referee told them that if the time gets to 11pm they may have to stop it - but that they had plenty of time so hopefully we should get a result!!

If Radwanska cant even beat freaking Kirilenko to make a slam semi that has to make her officialy the worst #3 ranked player in history.

Like I said, I'm not a big A-Rad fan, but she really deserves to make this SF after her great play all year! :cheer:

Kirilenko's game is really well suited for grass. Didn't see the match myself, but sounds like she was pretty fierce! It wouldn't surprise me if nerves came into play for Aga too.

But anyway, yay! :cheer::cheer: Radwanska's my fav player these days. Thrilled she made it to her first SF.

Overall, this was one of the best women's slam QF days in a long, long time!

I hope Vika wins, but it's unlikely as she's playing Serena. My guess is that the winner of that semi will win the tournament.

With the issues those two have with each other, it'll be a hilarious match :watch:
(and given hltheir year to date H2H I like that matchup)

It would be a bit of a shock if Serena doesnt win at this point. No great grass court players left, nor any historically tough opponents for her. Unless she has a majorly off day (and even then she probably fights through it) should be slam #14 for her. Of the women left Azarenka probably has the least chance of beating her though, while the winner of Kerber-Radwanska has slightly more. Azarenka just doesnt match up well with Serena, Serena has blitzed her in all 3 matches since her comeback. Add to that she isnt even really a very good grass player either. Of course if Azarenka somehow won she would blitz Radwanska, Azarenka-Kerber is a bit of an unknown matchup.

The question mark for Serena probably is if she might have a huge attack of the nerves like she did in the U.S Open final with Stosur. She doesnt seem as mentally tough as she used to be.

Azarenka beat Kerber in straight sets at Indian Wells this year.

To be fair, these are the four best players of the year (plus Sharapova) in the semi's - pretty fitting.

Federer looking good so far - a set and a break up - and so far no indication that the back is an issue!!

Djokovic is having to work a tad harder at the moment but he finally won the first set!!
