Serena's play is spotty. I have no idea why she is not going to the net more. She's so stubborn.

Roddick/Ferrer 1 set a piece. This could go on for another couple of hours - and then we still have to see Murray/Baghdatis. I would assume the roof would come on at some point in that match - if not before depending on what time it was due to start. Glad they re-opened the roof today - they had it closed this morning due to showers. After the bad decision to keep it closed yesterday even though they had no rain during any of the matches on center they obviously decided to keep their fingers crossed for no passing showers today :)

Well, it was about time for Roddick's required temper tantrum of the match.

Roddick challenging his own serve because Ferrer hit a winner off of it. The serve was in, of course.

    Stay classy, Andy.

Ferrer beats Roddick in 4 - I was a little surprised at that as Andy is a more natural grass court player but Ferrer does keep fighting and an excellent win for him. Of course he has now got Del-Potro - that could be an interesting match.

Now we get Murray - what is going to happen with that roof!!

Querrey has taken the match with Cilic to the 5th winning 2 tie-breaks.

Apparently it is known as a golden set

But what happened to Errani - she had been playing so well :(

Wow, a golden set! I think Serena was one point away from doing that a year or so ago.

Shvedova was one point from having a golden set at Amelia Island years ago, but she ended uploading the match 16 60 60.

Is that true? I've never heard of a player challenging a call to make their shot OUT. I'll have to YT search. That's pretty funny. ARod is such an AHole that I'm glad he lost. This is probably his last season also.

Matt Cronin tweeted about it and it was shown on ESPN:

Also, as per the BBC, Marcos is going to be a dad soon :) His girlfriend, former Croatian WTA player Karolina Sprem, is pregnant :cheer2: Congrats to them!

    ^Congrats guys!

Just re: Shvedova and her golden set. I remember watching her live a few years ago at the Birmingham tournament and seriously wondering why she hadn't achieved more in her singles career because she was so f*ckin good. Really one of those players I had to see in person to truly appreciate. So glad to see her having a wonderful few months!

Good that Murray was able to finish the match. I think Baghdatis was helping a bit in the plight to beat the clock.

I get the feeling Roddick won't be back - I sensed some kind of farewell at the end of that match.

I can easily see him retiring after the US Open. He needs to, his attitude is tiring. It must take a lot of energy to be such a little bitch.

^it would explain why his serve and FH have slowed down over the years.

I hate middle Sunday. I am so bored and have nothing to watch. I hate that Wimbledon doesn't allow play on Sunday.

OnyxRose, I feel a similar petulance. But then I look at Monday's OOP and feel mostly better. :)

I have always hated it, especially when I have work and that Sunday is one of the few days I can dedicate to watching tennis all morning long.

I picked Shvedova to upset Serena, and - having lost the first 6-1 - she is about to serve for the second at 5-2. Interesting.

Schiavone has the first set against Kvitova 6-4. Petra is 0/10 on BPs  and is being her usual streaky, frustrating self.

Youzhny currently cruising against Istomin by a set and a break. He has lost 6 (six!) fourth tounds at Wimbledon, never advancing to the QF. Now is his chance.

I know I'm talking to myself, but hey...

Malisse serving for the first set vs Federer.

4-3 to Shvedova final set aganst Serena.

Lisicki led Sharapova 5-2 but that has inevitably been cut to 5-4.

Youzhny led Istomin 6-4 4-2... completely gone off the boil since. one set all.

    Lisicki 6 - 4 Sharapova

Federer 7 - 6 Malisse - Malisse served for the set at 6-5, lost his serve easily and then won one point in the TB

Serena serving to stay in the tournament...
