National Novel Writing Month starts again in November - who's in?

I'm writing again this year, and I've found some inspiration over the past week or so, so I am really looking forward to it!

Don't worry, in NaNo time, you still have AGES! ;)

I'm not sure I'm going to do it this year. I'm in a production that has tech week the first week in Nov and then performances the next week. That doesn't leave a lot of time for writing.

I have an idea but I'm not sure where to start with it. ALways the problem!

I'm in! I'll be writing the last book in the trilogy I started in 2011, and I've even done a bunch of actual planning this time. (Gasp!) I'm itching to get started.

I signed up, with the plan that I will just bang out the second half of a work in progress that has had me second guessing myself for years. If I hate what I come up with, I can trash it in December, but maybe I'll at least learn something useful in the process.

SAME HERE. I'm bummed because I missed out last year as well due to a new job, but it is what it is. Good luck to all those that are doing it, though! It's loads of fun.

Had a lightbulb moment last night and came up with a firm plot. Phew!

So, just a few days to go, how's everyone's planning coming along?

I sat down last night and worked out what was going to happen to some of my secondary characters during this novel, in the hopes of avoiding the "Half my cast disappears for the last third of the story because I didn't know what the heck to do with them" problem that hit me last year.

I've never done this much planning for a NaNoWriMo before. I'm going to be one of those people who does a ton of planning and then can't write a single word on November 1, aren't I?

Just one and a half hours til NaNoWriMo 2013 starts! (For me, anyway!)

...I may not start at midnight. I'm so tired.

I've made an Executive Decision not to sit up for midnight this year. I'm going to go to sleep now and get some writing done in the morning before work. Goodnight, Wrimos!

Good luck to everyone writing where it's already November 1; I've got a few hours to go yet. I've been walking around with this story in my head all year and can't wait to get it out.

I signed up yesterday! This is my first NaNo. I'm a slow-as-molasses writer, so I have no delusions of finishing a book in a month, but I'm hoping to make a decent start :) I have a very, very rough, unfinished outline and am still trying to decide whether to do one or two POVs. I've been with the same set of characters in my trilogy for four years, so starting this new project is scaring me beyond words.

Good luck to everyone writing! Enjoy the journey, write honestly to yourselves, remember that there is no limits you can write about!

Smartest thing I ever did yesterday: Sat down after work and forced myself to write. 2000 words and the start of my story.

...then at work today I planned the first six chapters in great detail... :shuffle:

    Thanks for the well-wishes!

I had a productive weekend: 15,110 words. I seriously doubt I can keep that pace up, but I'm glad to have a surplus for now.

I'm behind again, only at 5447. I tried to force myself to write yesterday but my brain kinda went "fizzle!" and nothing happened. Oops.

I only have 1500 so far, but I feel like I'm starting to get to know my main character, so it's time well spent. Finished work for the day, so off to write now for an hour!

I'm using my enforced week off with wisdom teeth to catch up. I've written 8300 words today for a total of 16,946. I'm still behind but one more huge effort like today and I'll be ahead again - and I still have all of the week off!

Well done, and hope your wisdom teeth recovery goes smoothly.

I just broke 40K yesterday. I'm still going to be nowhere near finished with the story when I hit 50K, though.

I haven't reached the end of Chapter 1 yet. So, in short, this isn't going so well. :p Lesson learned: never release a book and try to do NaNo at the same time.

Before wisdom teeth I had only 5700-odd words.

After yesterday and today I am on par at 23368!!!

I've passed the 25,000 half-way point, and managed to insert skating into my story. :)
