LOL...what did he look like before?
another smiling Maria picture...wow! LOL
I was too distracted by the difference in their leg positions: she's on an edge, and he's straight-up on the flat.
Yes, this also caught my eye immediately.
But Jerome is anyway.
Yes, I noticed that as well. Maybe this particular photo doesn't make him justice. She so cute smilling like that ! Blanchard seems to experience some hairline issue... But anyway that doesn't change the handsome man he is ! Just he looks a little tired on this pic.
Their position in this spiral is weird, his hands are placed in a not really esthetic way.
C'mon guys, don't be so mean to Jerome. He's getting older, started to lose his hair, stop snarking.
STOP SNARKING? Are you mad? This IS FSU after all.
The French Fed is having a "Pairs Day" tomorrow in Paris. After the Canac/Coia and the junior pairs break-ups this season, new partnerships would be a great thing. James/Bonheur are expected there...and Moody Maria/Jerome. We have FSU Spies at that rink, so I expect hundreds of pictures of smilly Maria.
That was the first thing I noticed too. Looks kind of awkward. She is not really on a deep outside edge, but her body position leans like she is. He is definitely on the flat of the edge as is his body. I'm sure Oleg will fix this in time.
Sooo great =)
Wheeee Smiling Maria
Pleaze, who can care about Blanchard´s supposed receding hairline , he looks great and his career chances are stretching
Yes and yes.
According to Wikipedia, 25% of men begin balding by 30, and 4 in 7 men will have the baldness gene, so he'll have plenty of company, even if the numbers without citation have shifted. Plus he'll get it over with faster.
With a face like that, he doesn't need hair.
Judging by the position of his free leg and shoulders, I'd say they are entering a pair spin and hence the depth of edges/leg lines.
Glad to see that she seems to be happy. Hopefully this was a good decision for both of them.
They may need to grade that 25% on the curve for Figure Skating.
Seems to me, Men skating US Pairs have a somewhat higher than average number. IMHO of course.
NEW French Pair Try-out: Vanessa James and Maximin Coia...possibly trained by Ingo Steuer.
The French dream team!!!
like...for real? what happened to Bonheur?
It's a cruel cruel sport. The French Fed wanted to shake things up for a while now. Adeline Canac could not land her jumps to save her life. Bonheur was the weakest link of the partnership. So, you bring the strongest skaters together. DG was very active behind close doors to get this done. They are skating in Paris today, so I am sure that we will see pictures soon.
So James/Bonheur are history or what?
James/Coia had a try-out...they have to decide if they wanna pursue it. In my opinion, they would be crazy not to do it, especially if Steuer wants to take them.
translation from my autotranslator
I think something was lost in translation. I have this image of Maria rolling around on the ice as Blanchard stands there with a haughty gallic yawn.
Oh my !!! A dream team. It's been said on FSU several times, DG maybe listen to us !!!
For sure they would be great together, strong skaters with artistic qualities, both very reliable. They can reach the top together.
Now they can pair up Canac and Bonheur !!! Ok just kidding, I'm already deconnected !
Hope this works out!
It's official! Volosozhar finally got permission from Ukranian FS federation to represent Russia and next week will start training with Trankov. Here is an article in Russian
Coaches are Nina Mozer and Stanislav Morozov, Nikolai Morozov will help with new programs. Nina Mozer said they will give a press conference soon!
Good luck to them! What with the country change, how long will it be before they can compete on the GP? At Euros? At Worlds?
BTW, are Stanislav and Nikolai related at all?
12 months since Tatiana's last competition for Ukraine I guess (it was Olympics), so they can compete at Worlds.
And no, Stanislav and Nikolai aren't related
Correct translation: Maria shared the ice with Jerome for a year. Although the skaters didn't skate together before, they know each other well (both skating-wise and personally).
No, no, Maria rolling around Jérôme on the ice is much more fun! ;-)
Go Tatiana & Maxim (I just love saying that!)!
Wow! Hope they skate together!
