Just moment,Very moving scene, bless to this couple~
Ah...love those two!
Thank you for the links. Very nice.
This was a tad cheesy but TOTALLY gorgeous. Perhaps that is the most emotional I've ever seen her look, bar Vancouver. Although I'm confused; I thought they were already engaged? Or was this the actual marriage? Or...what??
That was very nice!
"And then your grandfather got down on one skate..."
That was very sweet -- congratulations to them.
Ick. I hate stuff like this. I love them but yuck.
Wow that was Lang Lang - as witness and possible best man?
I must admit, I don't normally like cheesy public moments, but then if you live on the skating rink for most of your lives together and the only gratification had been each other's company, encouragements; some medals along the way, and just live for crowd responses, it seems quite apt.
He started by saying he want to give thanks. Then proceed to give speech about being together for 18 years following an impossible dream. But todays dream is wanting to skate with her forever and ever, Pang Qing, Marry me!!
(Presenter made him to repeat the question again)
Tong - Will you Marry me?? (On one Knee)
Pang - I accept.
(Lang Lang impromptu performance? Rather simple tune for Lang Lang. What a superstar!!)
The crowd seems to be in shock, so polite and unenthusiastic for some reason.
The sound track they played at the end is from Forrest Gump, which is simply epic! A story of a life time on ice, started simply, unintelligently, without much thoughts or expectations probably, yet historically lows/highs - 18 years! Talk about the longest dating experience ever!! So happy for them, and finally he pops the question!!
OK, will they retire now?
I love them, but this year, they gave me a weird vibe. Every competition they entered, they've been talking to the press about how he might propose at the end of the competition, every single competition, maybe not the two GP series ones. Just feel like they're almost hyping themselves up and trying to get more attention. And most people in China knew that Tong's going to propose to her at Art on Ice yesterday, so it wasn't a surprise. I know some people are going to come out and attack me now for saying this, but it's just my IMO.
Sadly, I guess no.... since they have a new LP already with one of overused music choices lol... zzzz
xy3026rosa since you always bring up news about Chinese skaters, why don't you start a thread "Yan Liu got married, congratuation!" ?? I think she deserves at least SOME attention in China right? after being their #1 single ladies skater for so long.
. John Baldwin's public proposal was self-serving, egotistical, barf-inducing, etc.
. Tong's public proposal was "sweet", "gorgeous", "very nice", ...
I hate any sort of public proposal. Do thousands of strangers really need to know how "clever" you think you are at executing the proposal? Ugh.
Haha impossible dream. But he said impossible dream in English which means that he was probably referring to their 2010 free skate.
Is that true or just an exagerated assumption? If it's true, my congratulations! Yan Liu does deserve some attention. She had very solid jumps and one of the few who did all the triples. Her skating was lovely. I personally think she's been underrated quite a bit.
I like Yan Liu as well. I thought that she was always undermarked. She was one of the only or the only skater who had seven triples at Turin. She had a triple triple and very solid jumps. However, because she was always placed so early, she often got bad PCs. But besides having low level spins, she was great.
This is TRUE! That's what i was talking about, she got ZERO attention, because she doesn't like to talk about this stuff to media, no one even knew she was dating someone. HUGE contrast to some of the other skaters, just feel like it's more of self-promotion.
Pang Qing and Tong hands of health shining diamond ring is carefully crafted, exclusively for her I Do! Diamond ring design unique care, small diamond-studded rotation of the ring symbolizes the care Pang Qing perfect spin on the ice, but also represents Tong Jian love never fails, never care of the heart's treasure. Inner circle in the ring is engraved with "Pang Qing and I cherish," particularly hard. In particular, the bottom of the ring engraved with a care little snow, ice cause on behalf of the two pursuit.
And who the hell are you to tell someone what threads to start? You want one, start one. Sheesh.
Lol, i did not tell anyone to start, and won't start... that's sarcasm.. LMAO
Now we miss Liu Yan, we accused her before. But now is blessing~
We knew LIU Yan as the younger generation does not reach the height of Chen Lu.But she is still excellent than Chinese young ladies today.
It missed the mark.
Another skating wedding coming up. I wish them both a long and happy marriage.
how to detect sarcasm on an online forum brah? TIA.
"Before the Vancouver Winter Games, claiming an Olympic medal was my dream, but now my dream is to have you with me forever," Tong said to Pang at the end of the figure skating show on Sunday, which drove his partner to tears.
Aww, Yan Liu.
