A building housing five garment factories collapsed killing 200 hundred and trapping hundreds more inside. It is the second major death in that country's garment industry in as man years. Last yea over a hundred people died when a fire swept through another garment factory killing over a hundred. The workers were unable to get out because of locked doors and there were. Sprinkler system. The search for survivors in this latest incident.

    So horrifying.

    This part makes me ill:

    www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2013/04...rment-factories-evacuation-order.html?cmp=rss

In a story I read yesterday, the workers asked not to have to come in after they saw the cracks, but the factories stayed open and they had to work. I can't find the article on the CBC website, so the above might be an updated version of that article.

More exploitation and massive tragedy in a bid to provide cheap clothes for the West. So many of us are guilty, not just the factory bosses.

A tragedy of shocking proportions. But so little is the interest in developing countries in the media, that it's disappeared off the BBC headlines. :(
