I seem to remember reading about this some time ago in the past year. Is this the same story being recycled or did this happen a second time?

Here is an update (published 4/12/2012 around 2:20pm):

The baby is in critical condition (so this must be a recent news). It may not have such a happy ending, after all. How tough it would be for the parents to first lose her, then find her alive, and then possibly lose her again? She is 3 months premature, so her chances of survival don't sound very good.

ETA: CNN article on why the cold helps some babies and adults survive (they too mention this baby):

I'm not expert and I don't know why anyone would want to make up a story like that but while I've heard about cold being helpful to survival, what is the exact temperature in a morgue? It's below 0 C/32 F isn't it? So, without accusing anyone of anything, it sounds pretty fantastic to me for a baby to survive after being premature in a morgue that closed and an enclosed coffin.
That aside, isn't the child likely to have severe brain damage if she survives?

I can confirm that the story is 100% true, that the doctors involved in it have been put on suspention untill the investigation is closed and that the parents are suing the clinic and the doctors.
As for the litlle girl, the last news is that She is critical but stable.

The CNN article says the morgue refrigerators are 4C, which I find believable. When you freeze animal products, the consistency is not the same when you thaw it out. I would imagine they keep it low but not freezing-low, for when the relatives come to pick up the body.

Therapeutic hypothermia has been proven to save lives, and especially makes a difference for brain trauma victims. It's possible that it helped save this girl, although it usually doesn't work if it occurs haphazardly...

One of the articles said that in 2008 there was a similar case in Israel. That baby died later. I hope this one makes it, and has a healthy life.

This is a very good point. As I understand, premature babies have difficulties without this additional complication.
