Anyone planning to go?
Alas, I will be out of town during that time :
If the lineup's tempting enough. But it's a costly trip now compared to Challenge Cup in Ardmore and they're both around the same time...
My schedule for September is in a state of flux at the moment, but I could probably have my arm twisted for one of the days.
Marge S, are you planning to go?
I will be at Challenge Cup in Ardmore.
I'm working that weekend, but I will be there on Friday.
Maybe I'll go on Friday then and we can have a mini-meet-up.
Sounds like a plan! I should bring the banner with me.
I listed some of the registered Senior/Junior/Novice dance teams that will be at Challenge Cup (Sept. 8-11) in this US Dance thread: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?p=3272350#post3272350
SC of NY hasn't published the Middle Atlantics roster or schedule yet, but I can start a new thread in the Kiss and Cry forum when they are online. I believe Ross Miner currently is scheduled to compete there.
The Juvenile-Novice events are also quite good, if you're into that. Final warm-up before regionals.
Of course, the Junior and Senior events are always great. Usually some pretty big names.
I heard that they are having some serious players at Mids.
Top ISU, USFS officials. Which generally brings serious skaters at high levels! Might be fun to go and watch!!
Yup. They always have the highest quality officials at Mids.
Last year, the ISU Judge Hely Abbondati from Finland was there.
There will be a Pairs Critique this year with Special Guest Official Alexander Lakernik (Russia) that is sponsored by the Will Sears Memorial Fund.
Maybe I should call in sick on Saturday............
Hmmm. I'll try to make it but I have several things going on that weekend. It'll depend on the roster
Tim you better go!!!! Caitlin and Michael are competing!!!!!
Awesome I am so there!!! When is their short & long?
Short programs for all the Pairs and Senior/Junior Men are on Saturday, Sept. 17 with Senior Ladies FS being the last event. The club site says "Groups will be posted soon."
Complete Event schedule is online now: http://www.thescny.org/sites/default/files/Mids 2011 Schedule final.pdf

I'll be at both Ardmore and Mid Atlantics.
My daughter (M. Plank) is skating Juvenile.
I know I'm not a regular here (yet ), but if anyone is at either competition and wants to give a nervous mom a sympathetic nod, I'd be open.
Is there an FSU sticker or badge or something that you all wear to find each other at events?
Or do I just don my trench coat, hat and dark glasses?
Sylvia, Stephanie Jiajen HSIEH is within Junior Grand Prix substitutes for TaiPei (JGP AUS).
Oh, I wish I could go to Mid-Atlantics, given the roster, but I'm a bit far. Maybe next year, I'll plan a trip to see friends around it. Good luck to your daughter, and to all the others competing!
Fumie = WOW I'm so there
I miss competing at Mids! I'm going to be at the Pairs LP...Anyone else going??
EDIT: EEK Just realized my signature is my old one...UGH! CHANGE!
er...Glebova and Suguri are competing at a US Nats qualifier? Does that usually happen (I mean any non-US skaters, not specifically those two)?
Middle Atlantics is the annual (non-qualifying) competition of the Skating Club of New York. US Regionals are in October (North Atlantics, South Atlantics, and New England are the 3 regionals in the Eastern section).
Belated thanks, oubik. I wasn't sure and was too lazy to check online at the time.
thanks for the clarification
