WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!
And the much older Rockne is the one who's staying???
Hope she is ok.
What?! This is a shock! They were the most promising team in the US
WOW!! Did not see this coming. Especially her wanting to step away.
I loved her determination and spunk.
I thought they were coming along as a team quite well.
Oh my gosh.
Please let this be a nightmare.
*SIGH* And therein lies the problem with US pairs skating.
I am in a million depressions
I guess I shouldn't be surprised by another American pair breaking up, but .
Rockne might be the unluckiest U.S. male pairs skater. Ever.
NEVER saw this coming, not in a million years. They looked so improved.
The battle for US Pair #2 will be verrrrry interesting this year.
I wonder if something happened with Mary Beth. She's still so young and it seems odd to step away from the sport less than 2 years from the Olympics especially when you have a great shot at making the team. Also when you already have programs that you've competed this season.
I wonder if Rockne can get a new partner in the next 17 days and salvage his season?
Just opened facebook and saw this. Absolutely shocking. I hope she isn't hurt...
Meh - they would have been second for the next two years- which is nothing to sneeze at...Caydee and John have it locked up as much as it annoys us all
It doesn't annoy me.
Who's taking bets on his next partner being Ashley Cain?
Wouldn't Ashley be way too tall for him?
This could never work with their height similarity.
I hope they're both ok, and I wish them the best whatever they do next. I'm disappointed, because i really enjoyed seeing the progress they've made so far and I was looking forward to seeing them this year.
Besides the fact she is taller than him...?? Amanda Evora come out of retirement!
Oh no! I hope she is all right.
Not excited about D/C two-time American champions.
Rockne only has 17 days to register for Sectionals. He can't be too picky at this point. He might have to make it work. Not skating competitively before the year of the Olympics is a pretty sure bet he won't be there.
Cain would be a good selection, if she's willing.
In my defense, I'm home sick today.
Can we nip this talk in the bud...Rockne is Short for a male pair skater and Ashley is tall for a female pair skater...do the math!
This is crazy. I was just checking FSU one more time tonight in case anything new came up, but I was not expecting THIS!
I know I shouldn't be shocked about a US pair breaking up, but this was definitely surprising.
I wish them both all the best.
Isn't there any leeway from USFS? I mean, he's a two time national champion and his partnership ended abruptly right before the season started. It's not unthinkable that he could find a good partner and still do Nationals with some kind of buy for members of split teams who would have had a buy based on last year's results, or some such, but having that be a person he finds by the end of this month is unreasonable.
I liked this team so much!
Right before the beginning of the season. I hope everything is ok.
So? They could at least have a try out. Like I said, 17 days is not a long time. This calls for desperation on his part.
What the heck?!?!
What a shame. I thought they really had great potential. I hope Rockne can get another partner soon because I think he is one of the better male pairs skaters.
Are Yankowskas and Reagan a done deal, or could Caitlin be a good option for Rockne?
This is a shame, bad for US Pairs
It is too bad Andrea Poapst is Canadian. She would be perfect and is even in the area.
What about Rockne trying ice dancing and team up with Emily Samuleson? That would be a 5inch height difference. They would probably have a better chance for 2018 Olympics. I'm desperate to see Emily back in competition.
Please tell me it's April Fool's Day today?
unless Rockne already has somebody else lined up
Rockne is 2 inches shorter than Joshua Reagan and there is only a 3 inch height difference between Rockne and Ashley so it would be tough.
Separate names with a comma.
