Hey everyone. A very generous fan of my podcasts offered to transcribe highlights from each interview. Since some of the interviews are extremely long (a few are 1.5 hours) she's just doing highlights. I know some people here haven't been able to listen to the podcasts due to computer issues or other restrictions, and have asked for transcriptions. So I'm happy to be able to put this on the site!

So far the first three are done:

    #1 Kurt Browning
    #2 Rhea Schwartz
    #3 Oleg Vasiliev

    Thanks

Thanks Manleywoman, just read the Kurt Browning interview and really enjoyed it. I never had a chance to listen to the podcasts.

aren't there software out there that "transcribe" speech? I suspect they usually have lots of problems with similar pronunciations but that may help speed transciptions up?

So glad you are able to do this. I have it subscribed in my Ipod, but haven't picked my Ipod up in years...

I am excited to read them.

Skatecast #54 with Leah Adams. She talks about how to take a great skating photo, touring with Champions On Ice and how she started figureskatersonline.com.

Skatecast #21 with Chris Howarth, 1980 Olympian and commentator on British Eurosport. He talks about competing in the days against John Curry and Robin Cousins, and about how he started in commentary.

#25 with Alexander Fadeev. We did this interview in a dingy hockey locker room. Yuck! But it was the only quiet place in the building with an outlet. Another guy who should have had an Olympic Gold medal. Sigh.

#26 with Michael Cook, the off-ice trainer at SC Boston.

Alexandr was on fire in 1985. He really raised the bar both technically and performance - wise in Tokyo at the World championships.

The quadrennium from 1985 - 1988 featured so many strong male skaters, it was quite something that three world champions, Fadeev, Boitano, and Orser were the medal favourites heading into the Calgary Olympics.

Agreed about Fadeev. His programs in particular are really very impressive still today.

#24 with Lorin O'Neil is up. He's the only person to have skated in all three ice shows: Holiday on Ice, Ice Follies and Ice Capades. He also is a coach and choreographer.

I like the podcasts. I play them when I am stuck alone at the office working late. I chuckled at your comment to Frances Defoe about the knitted skating outfits - I thought everyone grew up wearing those!
