He was interviewed in Kazakhstan: http://www.figureskating-online.com/evan-lysacek.html

He debuted (ETA: internationally) his "Swan Lake" at the Denis Ten & Friends show (includes 3Lz & 3T): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UJeM3tAA_A

Re-posting from the Ten show thread:
Lysacek is pulling double duty while in Kazakstan this week - U.S. Embassy Astana shared U.S. Consulate Almaty's photo: https://www.facebook.com/usembassy.astana/posts/10152587178565348

Good grief, what a weird location for an interview. Glad to see Evan getting back to skating, though. I really liked his "Swan Lake" program for Denis's shows.

It is great to see Evan back on the ice! He did a great job, especially considering that he has only been back on the ice for 5 weeks.

I saw his Black Swan program at Sun Valley last year. At that time, the program had three jumping passes and he opened with a 3lz-3T combo. Based on a training video posted a few weeks ago, it looks like he had an additional jump planned at the end of the program. However, the jump was omitted, probably because he would have been too close to the boards. (The rink looks smaller b/c of the on ice seating)

ETA short (blurry) clip of Evan performing his Roxanne program at the first show in Almaty: http://instagram.com/p/ol6zggRTVK/#

Strange indeed. Luckily they did not encounter any major air turbulence during the interview. Loved how Brian appeared to be totally oblivious to the fact that they were talking about him.

I have never been an Evan fan, however his arms seem to have greatly improved. Still not sure about the theme of the program, have there been a lot of men who skated to Swan?

His skating seems the same to me, except a bit less flailing.

The idea was to do something different and we thought it is fun to do an interview on the plane. Sorry you didn't like it.

I've found myself checking out Mao and Carolina (with those cool glasses) in the back , Joubert next to Evan and Yagudin scared me!

Wouldn't say I didn't like it; it just struck me as a bit strange (I tend to be :yikes: about flying anyhow). I enjoyed hearing from Evan again, and the random glimpses of Mao, Yagudin, and Joubert were fun.

Here's hoping (God willing) Evan finally makes it back to the ice, I've missed him these past few years, he was always consistent and entertaining! :)

ps: and there still might be a re-match of Evan vs. Evgeni in 2018 if all the stars align just right.... :saint:

Thanks for posting Sylvia! I've always liked Evan despite other people's negative opinions/comments about him and his skating. I think his Swan Lake program is sublime! :swoon:

I thought it was a fun and novel location to use. Your questions were great, Eislauffan. Thank you for creating this for everyone!

Did you interview any of the other skaters that were on the flight?
