    Of the twelve in the poll, I want to see:

    * Resident Evil: so bad it's good
    * Looper: time travel!!!
    * Cloud Atlas: easier than reading the book.
    * Flight: Denzel!!!
    * Life of Pi: liked the book
    * Red Dawn: loved the original when I was a kid.

    I'll check out the movies in your second post later, but right now I need to pretend I'm a responsible adult and go to bed.

    I really want to see Looper, Pitch Perfect and Butter. Butter I'll probably have to wait for the DVD, Looper I'll see with my brother. I have been desperately trying to find someone to go to Pitch Perfect with since I saw the first trailer. It looks awesome! I love the trailers and the clip I've seen from it.

    Thanks for posting (interested in some upcoming films more than others). Often I wait till the DVDs become available -- going to the movies has become a rarity for me these days. Of those in the poll, I'm most interested per clips and actors in Won't Back Down, Cloud Atlas, Skyfall, Flight, and inevitably the final last bite of Twilight saga (for me the first was the better film comparatively -- the second was particularly bad, and the third was so-so).

    Love the quote from Cloud Atlas clip: "... we retrace our tracks like figure skaters."

    Thanks for compiling this huge list! :) Provided Looper goes up on Swedish cinemas at all, I expect to see it. Cloud Atlas as well, although I'd sort of want to read the book too, so maybe I should do that first...

    I actually hated the book. Well, loved the first 90%, then was so angered and disgusted by the ending that it made me hate the whole thing. (Ditto for Beatrice & Virgil -- to the point where I was tempted to go to the writers festival just to beat Martel about the head with a copy of the book.) BUT ... I'm thinking the movie might fix the issues I had with the book ... so I'm looking forward to seeing it. Plus I loves me some tigers. :D

    Although ... as perfect as I think Garner will be in that kind of part ... anyone else wish it had been Alison Janney?

    You're welcome! :D I also rarely go to see movies in the theatre. Luckily my library system gets almost every new release and there's no charge for holds and one can have 60 holds on their card at one time. :cheer2: I should be getting The Hunger Games any day now. :cheer: I only see movies in the theatre when it's a social outing with friends. My Mom offered me use of her air miles that she never uses and I got six two-for-one movie passes. They expire in a year and I wonder if I'll have to scramble to see a bunch of movies next summer so as to do something with some unused movie tickets! :D

    This is true for me for three of the movies for which I watched trailers. I thought these trailers were not very good, but what a cast:

    Oct. 5th - The Paperboy (Drama with Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman and John Cusack)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2GMwWaDSr0

    Oct. 12th - Seven Psychopaths (Dark comedy with Colin Farrell, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Tom Waits and Gabourey Sidibe)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOsd5d8IVoA

    Oct. 26th - Cloud Atlas (Sci-Fi mystery with Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent, Jim Sturgess and Keith David)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0G2wVGrQWbM

    Plus The Life of Pi did not have the best trailer I've ever seen. But it's directed by Ang Lee and I will literally see any movie he makes. The Paperboy trailer was a bit of a mess, not sure about Kidman's work in this one, but it'll be a treat to see how far out on a limb she climbs with this portrayal!! :lol:

    When I saw that Seven Psychopaths was a dark comedy with Colin Farrell....well, after seeing him in Horrible Bosses, I couldn't wait to see the trailer. But like The Paperboy, the trailer for this one is kind of all over the place.

    And the link for Cloud Atlas is not an official trailer, but a "preview" (one prepared by a TV show I'm guessing, and not the film's studio). It's also a bit of mess. What the heck is this movie about??? :confused: But with that cast, I'm in (regardless). (And it's nice to see Halle Barry finally in a movie that more than a handful of people will see in the theatre... :shuffle:) When an official trailer comes out, hopefully the theme/story of the movie will be more clear.

    Don't let my Debbie Downer moment distract you. When you think about it, how many movies do not use some sort of violence to bring about resolution to a problem? (So enjoy the gunfare!! :lol:)

    That makes one of you. :p

    I read a review of Battleship (in Entertainment Weekly?) and they said it was much better than one should expect. It's coming out on DVD in the next week I think, I'm looking forward to the library getting it. (Our library got 110 copies of The Hunger Games by the way! :eek:)

    I was over at my parents' house when a commercial for Resident Evil came on. I said something to the effect of "Geez, there are still morons who want to see these movies?"

    To which my Dad says, "I want to see this movie."

    So yeah, I guess I'm taking my dad to see Resident Evil. :shuffle:

    You know, I felt the same way about these movies. I came into this series late. I think it was something I stumbled onto, like switching channels one afternoon and seeing an interesting scene and then watching the rest of the movie. I think the Resident Evil movies are good popcorn-movies. Have you seen one the whole way through? Another plus is that this is an action series with a female lead, the next one is #5. Has any female-led action-film series made it to #5? You'll have to watch just for this historic aspect! :lol:

    Hmm. While there isn't a trailer for this one yet, my thought while searching for one was, "good lord, this is going to be dry..." But I'm not one to critique a film until I have seen it's trailer. :D

    Let us know how the elections gol. :p
