If you look at mangas catered to Japanese teenage girls, Kevin's styling with the hair is pretty much their idealistic dreamy prince image.

I hope Kevin rocks it on Friday!!!!

WTG Kevin. Really pleased with his skate -- and unlike some, I actually like his music for the short. Swinging with Kevin!

Geez, I hope not. She's in her 40s and it was downright embarrassing and somewhat icky. OTOH, it would be a great story to tell!

No kidding that it isn't too shabby, considering he was 12th at worlds last time. That's a huge leap upward, and he wasn't even at his absolute best. Congratulations to him!

Yes. Definitely meant it as an understatement. :)

On Friday, Kevin wrote on his FB:

Finally, some rest! After what was probably the most stressful 3 weeks of my career, I'm now able to reflect a bit.

Last week in London was simply incredible; the support given by the fans and volunteers was really something special. Competing at a World Championships in Canada is something that I'll never forget. I'm so glad I could experience it.

This year, I was able to reach that next level – winning my first major international championship, and making it to the top 5 in the world. Yes!! o(≧▽≦)o

I'd like to thank everyone for their continued support. Through all the highs and the lows, you've always encouraged me to try my best and never give up.

And now, thanks to you, I've persevered.

...On to the next, WTT 2013! Let's end the season with some fun. すごく楽しみにしています!(*ยด▽`)ノ

I have never seen Kevin so happy, so responsive, as he was in London. He seemed to really enjoy all the attention and support and reached out to the fans. He has really emerged since his 4CC win.

Glad to see this. Kevin deserves his own fan thread :), and I'm wishing him all the best for the coming Olympic year. May he have many more skates like 4CC's last year.

^^^ Thank you aemerald. Too bad he couldn't showcase his programs at the BC due to his skates. What are his programs? Is his SP the one he skated recently at Japan?

Here's a vid of little Kevin. He's a real cutie and spoke well for his age.

Very cute, spikey. thanks a lot for this. Where do you find them! Kevin always speaks well, and has a great dry sense of humour. A couple of years ago, when Canada hoped against hope that we would get the magic combined placement of thirteen, he endeared himself to me forever when , after placing 12th, he remarked "I've done my bit, it's up to Patrick now."

It seems like he said on the BC interview that he'll be debuting his new free skate at Japan Open so that makes me think he already debuted his short at The ICE in Japan.
I love how he mentioned he was the first man to land 5 quads in a series of competitions during Canadian nationals...I figure he means in one competition?
He also mentioned that if his skating career doesn't pan out, he would like to be an English teacher in Japan. hehe. He's so cute!

Ok, this is the program he skated at The Ice which I'm thinking might be his short program:

    ETA: Is that Adelina Sotnikova?

I was amazed at his improvement last year. He and Max Aaron would have to win the awards for the most improved skaters.

All right, Kevin's new programs are wonderful. He has found his own expression rather than trying to follow someone else's ideas. It is wonderful to see him relaxed and happy and his own person.
The sky's the limit for Kevin now.

I never dreamed two years ago that he could become the skater he was in the two exhibitions from Japan. They were both great.
