Thanks for the link, WildRose! Glad you guys like the article =).

Can't believe the show is in just two days. I really enjoyed the show last year and am going to this year's show (expect photos. possibly tweetage, depending on if my phone cooperates). It blows me away how cheap tickets are for Kaleidoscope. I hope people around the Charlotte area can check it out.

Coming out of lurkdom to say that it's *very* disappointing that the televised show will be for only an hour. It was 90 minutes the last two years. And that wasn't long enough.

Great show, though evidently traffic was awful and parking was worse, so half the audience was late (the show started 30 minutes late and people got in even later than that). It ran quite long due to delays and stuff (tape holds?) while they set things up for the TV taping, but we also got a bunch of extra musical performances that I'm pretty sure won't make the hour broadcast, as well as two programs from all of the skaters except Nancy, and some featured spots with local skaters.

I did some tweeting during dress rehearsal and the show: http://www.twitter.com/kurtfiles

I'm way too tired to write a review now, but here's the runlist:

    Act I:
Intro - Party Rock Anthem - Cast
Lady Marmalade - Patti LaBelle & Johnny Weir
Show Me How to Burlesque - Joannie Rochette
Put a Little Holiday in Your Heart - Nancy Kerrigan
Keep Your Head Up - Paul Wylie & Andy Grammer
Elvis Medley - Sinead & John Kerr
    Honey - Kurt Browning
Lift You Up - Elvis Stojko
I'll Be Home for Christmas - Sasha Cohen & Jordin Sparks

    Act II:
    Somebody's Heartbreak - Hunter Hayes
Storm Warning - Kurt Browning & Hunter Hayes
Almost Paradise - Local Skaters, Hunter Hayes & Jana Kramer
    Poker Face - Johnny Weir
Exhibition - Sinead & John Kerr
    The Cure - Jordin Sparks
    Silver Bells - Paul Wylie
    Mein Herr - Sasha Cohen
Fine By Me - Andy Grammer (acoustic)
The Pocket - Local Skaters, Andy Grammer
When a Hero Cries - Elvis Stojko
    True Colors - Joannie Rochette
Finale - The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Cast & Patti LaBelle

Show airs Thanksgiving Day 4-5PM after the football game.

Photos and possibly review to come.

This show sounds SO great. Glad to hear that Hunter Hayes was there -- I've been a fan ever since I first heard "Storm Warning." Yeah, I know he looks a little like Justin Bieber . . . but this kid actually has talent. :) And yes, Teenes, you heard right about him playing every instrument on his album.

Tina, thank you for writing such a wonderful review of the show last night. Your eye for detail is very impressive, and much appreciated. I can't wait to see your pictures.

Wyliefan, I was thinking of you last night. Pauls skating is nothing short of perfection. It was such a treat to see him skate again.

Aw, Ice Queen, that's sweet of you! I do so wish I could have been there to see him. I don't suppose the network version will show everything he does . . . but they'd better show at least ONE routine, or I'll storm the place!!

Yes. I don't understand the football postgame. I understand holding it because the game runs over, but I don't understand this--presumably, if you cared, you've seen the game. You know what happened. :p

Can you imagine the outcry if football, or hell, even golf, ran late because Peter Carruthers wanted to have a sit-down with Mirai and Frank after the event?

You're not kidding. I don't get the football obsession, I really don't. You SAW the game, why do you have to talk about it for six hours??

Every time I hear that version of "True Colors," I want to send Cyndi Lauper to a speech therapist.

Joannie is turning into a great show skater. As an amateur, I only really appreciated her power and talent when watching her live, but now, you can really see her deep edges and strength even on TV.

This seems like such an important show. Support for cancer patients, information about resources, really reaching out to people dealing with this horrible disease.

Nancy's lutz is still :swoon: This is not a knock at COP, because I do like a lot of things COP has done, but until COP, I didn't really care for show skating. Now, show skating is like a nice palate cleanser--the deep edges, long glides makes a nice contrast to the sometimes frenetic competitive programs we see now.

Though I'm not sure about Browning's mugging. :shuffle:

 at Kurt showing off his abs like he is The Situation!!

Nancy did look good in that dress and that choreo played to her strengths.

    Unfortunately, it is.

Paul is SO :swoon:. I'll tell you what, though, if I were a skater in one of these shows, I'd spend the entire routine directly in front of the singer, so they couldn't keep pulling that showing-only-the-singer crap.

Aw, there's my cute little Hunter!

Exactly what i was thinking. That and the glorious and secure edge quality from the skaters who learned figures. Makes me wonder if figures help a skater maintain jumps down the road....

LOVED that! I wouldn't have thought "Storm Warning" could've been a skating song, but Kurt really pulled it off.
