He is hot. I would give him extra points just for that.
British Eurosport HD version of exhibition:
Cross posted from the Beat the Heat benefit thread
(with plenty of photos of Javi):
He always looks like he enjoys what he is doing on the ice.
Javi short interview clip in Spanish:

When asked about his programs...
"It's going to be something very similar to what I did a couple of years ago for my short program "I Love Paris" and it's going to be very elegant and a little sexy, like my coaches would, like they say."
About the Olympics....
"Of course, it's a dream. We're going to try. Hopefully. It's all I can say. Hopefully it happens because I think it's a dream for all athletes in all sports to have an Olympic medal."
Not clear what he's talking about here:
"Well, that's a challenge I don't think about yet. It's too soon. For now, all I want to do is keep working, keep competing well. I want to get more titles, more medals."
When asked about his favorite program:
"I would say the Charlie Chaplin program. It's a program I like very much and people got excited about it. I would pick that one."
I like Javier in Charlie Chaplin. It suits his 'happy cheerful' personality.
The ICE 2013:
I think if Javier can win the European title prior to the Olympics and skate cleanly in the Olympics, he can beat Patrick Chan.
Javier reminds me so much of Brian Orser. They are even the same height (5'3") and body type, and now Orser is the coach. I hope Orser does not teach Javier to have a scary 3flip and unreliable 3loop like Orser had when he competed.
I am rooting for Javier this season. He can win every competition if all goes well for him.
I will be rooting for him because he is a joy to watch.
I will be rooting for him because he's around 5' 8", and therefore unqualified to read for the role of Tyrion Lannister.
Dear Javi fans, ubers and haters,
If you go to an event where Javi is at PLEASE take lots of pictures (good ones!), take LOTS of video footage of him everywhere you see him. That includes: Practices, Warm-ups, Exhibition practices, Gala practices, everything! I'm sorry if I come off as greedy, but I for one, REALLY get a kick out of seeing Javi outside of actually performing. Especially at gala practices. It's fun seeing who he interacts with and playing around.
P.S. (I'm going to copy-pasta this in D/W's thread and Dai's too, so don't report this as spam.)
hehe. I'm right there with ya, Jiazumi. Please people!
Hadn't seen this one before.
All That Skate 2013
Aerobic class mix:
His adorable silent acting performance in the ShibSibs video "Wish You Were Real" from TheICE 2013 tour.
Love seeing the friendship amongst the skaters, and the gentle creativity of this "short film" is a delight.
Livejournal group for Javi in Russian, but you can see lots of photos and videos
I'm still mad at The Ice for not showing Javi's Charlie Chaplin program!
There is an exclusive club of people who have performed the "water bucket splasher" role. Kurt Browning during Stars on Ice and Alex Shibutani during theICE.
Lol "I wish you were real" was pretty funny. Javi has another bright career ahead in silent film
How can anyone *hate* Javi? He's SO charming & talented!
According to Wikipedia, Orser is 5' 6" and Fernandez is 5' 8".
Here's a funny story today at my school:
The lady that comes on the intercom said, "Javier Fernandez, please report to the auditorium. Javier Fernandez, please report to the auditorium."
I know that name is common, but still the fact that she said go to the gym made me think "Aerobic Class"!!!
Javi for president!
3 quads! could you ask for anything more?
1. The program makes me think Sean Connery as James Bond, which is not bad. He has a lot of appeal.
2. All the jumps could have been better, but even with the flaws he landed them exceptionally reliably.
yeah, I know. But we are getting used to 3 quads per program with Javi
but I see improvement in his flow and movements...not so sloppy. and the spins were very good.
And the program suits him, and I love that shirt...I want another one
That program was out-of-this-world. He *is* James Bond. 'nuff said.
Another strong skate from Fernandez, silver and above at Sochi isn't so unrealistic. Engaging in a little crowd play can be deadly. He seems to have better stamina than last season, especially for such early in the season. But it is still a major weak point for him. He needs to keep working on conditioning. He pretty much has the rest nailed.
The problem though, is with repeating the 4sal and the 3sal. If he ever triples one of the 4sals, he will have to change his program on the way. And if he triples both of his 4sals, there will be a lot of changing his program on the way.
normal: 4toe, 4sal3toe, 3axel, 4sal, 3lutz2toe, 3loop, 3flip-3sal, 3sal
tripling 1 quad: 4toe, 4sal3toe, 3axel, 3sal, 3lutz2toe, 3loop, 3flip-3sal, 2axel
tripling both quads: 4toe, 3sal3toe, 3axel, 3sal, 3lutz2toe, 3loop, 3flip3toe, 2axel
Brian has Javi practice the different scenarios.
Torn between deciding who played Bond better-- Javi or Brian Joubert
This is tough.
I am really starting to appreciate Javi's jump layout. It is very rare to see a quad more to the center of the ice immediately in front of the judges ... the judges must not make him nervous.
