Yukina Ota is :swoon:-worthy, even while doing nothing but posing. And Shiz in the house is always a plus, as well.

Not yet - the program will start airing on tv in about 20 minutes - as it will be aired two more time within the next 12 hours, I am not sure when the full program will be available online

Also I have trouble playing it too but I found refreshing the page worked for me ;)

Thanks - I'd posted the article with a 3-minute video clip embedded in this Takahashi thread as well as in the TV Alerts forum and was wondering if the full program is available to watch online.

^^^ Thanks, but I think CNN International's YT videos are geo-blocked in the USA?

as the off-season goes on, any word on which coach miki has chosen? or does she (if she really does) want to make this on her own?

In Japan, I haven't found any reliable information about her new coach or her new choreographer for next season so far on media, her fan blog etc. I, too, would like to know about it early.

Can someone confirm that Nobunari Oda's new SP is a jazz number from The Cotton Club soundtrack, (still to be?) choreographed by David Wilson?

    http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/52197894.html
I think Oda mentions that Wilson also choreographed his new exhibition program to The Last Samurai soundtrack? Is the William Tell Overture his new FS music or am I mis-reading the Google translation?

ETA more links from the same source:

    Yes,
It is as just your translation. He is saying so surely.

    http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/52197899.html
    Translating to English from Japanese.
You showed the new program, but did you show it at the first time today?

Yes, I showed it at the first time today because I thought that I would like to show it in this Kansai University. The exhibition program is "Last Samurai" and what I performed at Encore is "Wiliam Tell Overture".

Aiming at new season, how are the preparations going?

As for the exhibition and the free, it completed in February and as for the new SP, I am going to make together with Davit Wilson in Toronto, Canada after about two weeks.
The program making is that's all.

As for the program making, was your intention or thinking reflected?

As for the free, it is my image which Lori Nichol feels because Lori Nichol chose the music while I entrust to her. As for the exhibition, I came up with an idea that I would like to do with the music of "Last Samurai", because a lot of fan seems to have the image of samurai to me and next season is the last season as the eligible for me.

    How is the short program?

It isn't yet fixed, but, it becomes the music of the jazz, "Cotton Club". David Wilson chose this, too.

    Translating to English from Japanese.
The top skaters exhibition which was hosted by Kansai University was held in Takatsuki Campus of Kansai University in May 26th. The 7 skaters of Nobunari Oda (26, Graduate School of Letters 2nd), Tatsuki Machida (23, Letters 4nd), Kosaku Yamada (21, Policy Studies 4th), Shion Kokubu (21, Social 4th), Kanaka Muramoto (20, Health and Well-being 2nd), Yamato Tamura (33, the coach of the ice skating club) and Satoko Miyahara (15, Kansai University High School) showed the splendid performance in front of 500 audience.

Oda showed the new program of exhibition and free skating. As for SP, he released the name of the music and showed the unwavering resolve, saying "I would like to participate to the Sochi Olympics by all means". Machida was conscious of both skaters of Takahashi and Oda who challenge a season to perfection, saying "I will face to the season with decision as if I, too, resign from eligible".

This is an article in "Kyoto Shimbun" in Japan.

To the splendid dance of Miyahara, a cheer arose.
    May 27th, 2013

The top skaters exhibition of Kansai University was held in Kansai Ice Arena in May 26th.
Satoko Miyahara (Kansai University High School) who appeared at first made the audience excite, while nailing the jumps one after another along with the music "Mambo"

After the performance, she said, "It was good because I could skate with all my ability" with smiling. Miyahara who is during winning the championship for two years in Junior Japan Nationals changes to the senior in the next season, aiming at Sochi Olympics. She was enthusiastic, saying, "I would like to do effort so as not to compare unfavorably with them because I must skate together with the skaters of large body. I would like to do my best through one year so as to be able to skate certainly to the new program".

Very happy to see Nobu skating to jazz for his SP, he's always done well with that genre of music. Looking forward to the William Tell LP.

The story is that he is in a serious relationship with a 29-year old Fuji Television news announcer named Yurika Oshima. They reportedly met at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. In his blog, Kozuka doesn't confirm or deny the relationship. He just says he has been in the U.S. focusing on his skating from April through July, and that, in regards to the news story, she is one of the people who supports/understands him.

Re-posting from a Trash Can thread (Marin Honda won the Novice B title this past season):
    Re. Marin Honda's JGP eligibility:
Is the local competition linked from this page? http://www.jsfresults.com/local/2012-2013/fs/index.htm
If yes, which one is it, please?

It's not linked from that, Sylvia. The name of the competition is All Kansai Figure Skating Championships. The result of the competition isn't open to public this season. But it had the website last season and this is the result page. Marin won Novice B1 by 56.05 last season. And this season, from fan repots mostly on twitter, she upped her jump contents as NMURA posted above. People tweeted she skated almost clean though she underrotated her 3Lo in the cascade.

She has a older brother and two younger sisters, and all of them are figure skaters. Taichi Honda, her older brother, won Junior Men at the same competition and he is competing at ISU junior competitions. Miu Honda, younger sister, is so famous as a TV talent in these couple of years. She competes at some local competitions and skates at shows like Art on Ice japan. Her youngest sister is at the age of around five, and she is so cute. Miu is the most famous one now but Marin is the most talented among them for sure.

Thank you VERY much, rosewood! :) The youngest Honda sister is named Sara, according to the caption of this fun fluff piece from Japanese Junior Nationals that shows brother Taichi Honda with his younger sisters and includes his Junior FS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTQCLFvGMhA

ETA that Marin Honda won the Advanced Novice Girls event at 2013 Triglav Trophy in late March (haven't found any videos) with a total score of 124.76. Her SP jumps were 3Lz<+2T, 3F, 2A (42.73); her FS jumps were 3Lz+2T, 2A+3T, 3F, 3Lz, 3Lo, 3S fall (82.03).

    2013-2014 season Japanese teams
    http://www.skatingjapan.or.jp/national/national_list.php?sports_id=2

Apparently, there is no change from the announcement in April.
Imai is remaining in the "B" category.

Following senior B's are listed in the "event informations" section.

Asian Open Trophy, Nebelhorn Trophy, O Nepela Trophy, Finlandia Trophy,
Merano Cup, Ice Challenge, NRW Trophy, Golden Spin of Zagreb
Challenge Cup, Coupe du Printemps, Gardena Spring Trophy, Triglav Trophy

Basically, they don't send athletes anywhere else.
