Mao Asada's new SP is a classical piece (choreo by Lori nichol)
    http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20130419/fig13041922140004-n1.html

Takahito Mura had progresses on finding sponsors
    http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20130419/fig13041921390003-n1.html

Satoko Miyahara will make a senior debut
    http://sankei.jp.msn.com/sports/news/130419/oth13041920100011-n1.htm

The senior ranks of Japanese ladies would be too thin after Sochi. It's better for Miyahara to move up to the senior GP, and to give JGP spots to other (younger) skaters.

    Thanks, NMURA.

The Miyahara article mentions that she will join Yuzuru Hanyu, Daisuke Takahashi, Mao Asada in the top group of funded Japanese skaters, correct? (I don't see Akiko Suzuki's name mentioned?)

Can someone start a new thread in GSD when the Japan Skating Federation announces/publishes the 2013-14 Season Training Players of Japan (“The 2013-14 Season Kyouka Senshu”)? Thanks in advance.

Thanks very much to both of you!

I've added Japan Nationals results (Senior, Junior, Novice) below and indicated the JGP age-eligible skaters below with *.

“Tokubetsu Kyouka Senshu” or “Special Certified Athlete”
    ...
*Satoko Miyahara J1 / S3 (is it confirmed anywhere that she plans to move up to the Senior GP?)

“Kyouka Senshu A” or “Certified Athlete A”
    Men:
    Kento Nakamura S6
    Akio Sasaki S8
    *Keiji Tanaka J3 / S7
    *Ryuju Hino J1 / S10
    *Shoma Uno J2 / S11
    Ladies:
    Yuki Nishino S7
    *Rika Hongo J3 / S5
    *Riona Kato J2 / S6
    *Yura Matsuda J4 / S8

“Kyoka Senshu B” or “Certified Athlete B”
    Men:
Daisuke Murakami (injured at NHK Trophy & missed Nationals)
    *Sei Kawahara J5 / S17
    *Taichi Honda J6 / S14
    *Shu Nakamura J8
*Sota Yamamoto J4 / N1 (yet to make JGP debut)
*Taichiro Yamakuma J7 / N2 (yet to make JGP debut)
    Ladies:
    *Risa Shoji S12
    Haruka Imai S14
    *Rin Nitaya J5 / S10
    *Miyabi Oba J6 / S11
*Wakaba Higuchi J7 / N2 (yet to make JGP debut)
*Mai Mihara J8 / N3 (yet to make JGP debut)
*Kaori Sakamoto J9 / N1 (yet to make JGP debut)

Based on 2013 Junior Worlds results, Japan will receive 7 JGP slots for both their ladies and men.

She should be in the top 24 of the ISU World Standings when they are updated for the new season and therefore be guaranteed 1 invite based on the 2012-13 selection criteria.

    I'm sorry.
I mistook the name of the player of the Certified Team B of ice dance, because my prejudice.

The correct name of the team is below.

The Certified Athlete B of Ice Dance
    Nana Sugiki (Aoyama Gakuin University)
    Hiroichi Noguchi (Meiji University)

I don't know the reason that the Bryna Oi & Taiyo Mizutani team alternated with the Nana Sugiki & Hiroichi Noguchi team.
I think that JSF may have considered the nationality for the Sochi Olympics, because their results aren't the cause.

This is an article in "Sports Hochi" in Japan.
    Translating to English from Japanese.

Miki who comes back with an ice show after an interval of 9 months said, "I am exciting".
    April 17th, 2013 JST

In April 17th, Miki Ando appeared to the press conference of the ice show "Art on Ice 2013" (June 1st-2nd, Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo) which was held in Tokyo Metropolitan area.

She showed the determination to skate in this show as the first step of next season which is the Sochi Olympic season and she will face with being conscious as the final season as the eligible.

It is after interval of 9 months that Ando who rested continuously for two seasons skates in the public place. As for next season, she intends to return to competition and she said with smiling, "This show is my first event of new season. I'm exciting because it is after long interval. I hope the audience gets the different impression than before about me, so as to say, 'she has changed' or 'she became like an adult'".

In this season, she was absent from the competition because of the lack of conditioning such as the coach absence. She disclosed, saying, "Although there were the offers from the various shows, I has lost the opportunity to skate because of my private circumstances". However, she has continued the preparation to greet next season with the perfect condition, such as practicing with reserving a rink at the midnight when there is not the person.

She is going to train herself skating to the program with participating to the plural shows from now on. She aims at the Japan Nationals which is the qualification event of the Japan representative for Sochi Olympics in the end of this year, but she must participate from the preliminary competition of the local block competition etc. in this autumn, because she is out of the Certified Athlete of JSF. She said, "I hope that everybody enjoy the figure skating not only as a competition but also as an entertainment". Aiming at the compilation as the athlete, she is going to start.

I wish more skaters would use Kenji Miyamoto. His programs are so beautiful, and seem to fit the skater perfectly!!

Why is he putting so much pressure on himself? Just do the Nichols and Miyamoto. Nobody should have to learn four new competition programs in one season, let alone an Olympic season. I'd rather see him go back to his 2011-2012 programs!

I am afraid he is biting off too much.... Let us hope the Morozov programs are short-lived.
