Since the other japanese figure skating news thread is now closed here's another one.

I've just checked the official website of the world championships 2014 and saw the names of Takahashi, Asada and Suzuki included on the japanese team. Hopefully this means that they've really decided to go to worlds.

So sad that Daisuke will not be at Worlds, was so hoping his final competitive skate would be on home ice.

    Here's hoping Kozuka does great!

i wonder...is adult skating big in japan or is it more of a western country culture?

Hopefully now that Midori Ito is doing Obderdorf "adult Worlds", it will become more popular. I doubt it is as big as in US. If noting else, the limited ice time would make it even harder for someone with a full-time job to find sessions that would work with their schedule.

Though I'm sad for Daisuke Takahashi, I'm happy for Takahiko Kozuka, whom despite winning bronze at Japanese Nationals was left off the Olympic Team in favor of Dai, whom finished 5th (I agreed with the decision by the JSF though). :) Now Kozuka gets his shot at Worlds, and in Japan of all places, yeah! :encore:

NMURA, thanks so much for that wonderful video! :respec: It's always a joy to see up & coming skaters, some of them prodigies. Whose that girl in the beginning of the video whom the video focuses on the most? She's gorgeous and towers over the two that came in 2nd & 3rd. She looks mixed. Also, love the one that did the fully rotated clean 3R/3R combo. and also the one that did the 3axel (shades of Mao Asada).

A funny video of Oda talking to the Japanese men after FS in Sochi. Of course he manages to tear up when talking to Daisuke, so sweet.

Nobu had every reason to feel bitter after not making the Olympic team, but he is so sweet and supportive! Love him.

He lost his spot at the Olympics twice because of Tahakashi.
