Ivan Bariev wants to skate for Italy

    Shelepen is in the same boat as Ringhini: while the Russian Fed announced her release at the same time it announced Bariev's, she had competed in Fall 2012 (at 2012 Nebelhorn, Skate Canada, and Golden Spin), and she can't compete for Israel until 2014-15.

    According to mathil's post in the Italian Skating/Skater News thread, Ringhini has been granted an exception by the ISU Council under Rule 109, which leaves Shelepen alone in that boat. I don't see it documented in the ISU Council notes in Communications 1784, 1797, or 1826, and it may not be yet documented or ever documented.

    This would mean Righini is out of Sochi and has to wait until the next OWG.
