Re-posting from the 2014 Worlds forum into this new thread (thanks, rosewood! ):
This is awesome, particularly the men! Others are really good too. I wish we would have similar shows in the USA.
Do you know how to get tickets, if still available??
Shame tickets are sold out. Here is the ticketing site. http://ticket.pia.jp/pia/event.do?eventCd=1401106
They might sell some tickets at the box office in the venue. For further information, make a call to the ticketing company.: 06-7732-8888 (Kyodo Tokyo Japan, 10:00-19:00 Japan Time) http://skatingjapan.or.jp/image_data/fck/file/2013_Figure/Worlds/WFC2014ExinOsaka0314.pdf
If you're interested in SOI Japan Tour, you can see many skaters who skates in both of Osaka Exhibition and JSOI.(Some skaters were added recently) Tickets are still available. My friends were not interested in JSOI so much till last season, but the cast of this season is wonderful(almost kinda Medalists on Ice). So they are excited for seeing the excellent skaters all together in one show.
SOI Japan Tour cast:
Qing PANG/Jian TONG
Narumi TAKAHASHI／Ryuichi KIHARA
Tessa VIRTUE／Scott MOIR
Maia SHIBUTANI／Alex SHIBUTANI
Cathy REED/Chris REED
Tokyo April 11(Fri)-13(Sun)
Nagoya April 16(Wed)-18(Fri)
Osaka April 19(Sat)-20(Sun)
*Click on the cities, you'll see the ticketing companies on the bottom of the site. If you have further questions, feel free to ask me.
Thank you for starting the thread!
Do you have the link of official website?
JFS announces information about Osaka Exhibition shows on their official site.
i wonder why miki doesn't take part in the japan shows? no invitation? rosewood?
but nice to see oda once more.
Don't worry Jeschke, Miki has been very busy appearing on TV. I often saw Miki and Nobu on TV since their retirement. I assume the reason why Miki is not on JSOI cast is partly because SOI is IMG's show. Miki tends to skate in shows organized by CIC(one of Japanese event companies).
Miki is scheduled to Prince Ice World shows.
April 26, 27, 29, May 3, 4
thanks rosewood, you are my personal info of japan figure skating thanks a lot.
@ShibSibs tweeted this SOI Japan group photo on Osaka ice: "Day 1 of rehearsals is in the books! Gonna be an awesome show. Love this cast." http://pic.twitter.com/NBKZnboXxs
^Before the normal version of JSOI they have special version in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Superstars on Ice(April 7-9). SSOI's cast is almost the same as JSOI(Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka). Dennis Ten is added to SSOI , and Shizuka, Satoko, Reeds, Takahashi/Kihara don't skate. Tickets are sold out and they've announced they' don't sell tickets at the box office in the arena.
At the bottom of the page, they have the list of the additional performers. I have very limited knowledge on Japanese. I wonder what I am reading is correct here?
Adelina Sotnikova, Jeffrey Buttle, Carolina Kostner, Maia and Alex Shibutani, Denis Ten, Pang & Tong, Joannie Rochette, and Yuka Sato (She's for April 8 and 9 only)
By the way, am I in the right thread? There are several ice shows discussed here.
Maybe I need to request a thread title change to encompass ALL shows in Japan through April into May? Lucky, lucky Japanese fans!
And 2 more shows already happened in April

Yes please!!! Looking forward to reading that!!!
The more we have reviews, photos and videos, the more we enjoy figure skating
I also went to see World Championship EX in Osaka 2nd show on April 5th.
The arena was filled with enthusiastic crowd.
How lucky to see such gorgeous skaters in my hometown!
To all skaters and staff, thanks billions for making a fantastic time!

News clip of Osaka Exhibition from a news show yesterday.
Thank you everyone for sharing reports and links to photos/videos. Shame I can't see the gorgeous shows live! I've been waiting for long to see Carolina skating in Japanese shows so it's a shame I can't see her at the rink in this spring. Come again, Carolina! But I'm glad skaters and the audience had very good time in Osaka. Now they're moving to Sapporo for Superstars on Ice.
some other backstage photos
They didn't announce the programs on the official site. According to the reports I read on SNS, they did the programs in Osaka Exhibition shows(three shows in total) as follows:
Mai MIHARA(Jr skater):　？
Shoma UNO:　"Tanguera"
MURA:　"Love Never Die"
MURAKAMI: "I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You"
ODA: "Last Samurai"
Shibutanis. "I Lived"
Suzuki: "Hymne a l'amour"/"Love dance" (encore "O")
TEN: "Singin' in the Rain"/Kazakhstan number(sorry I don't know the name of the music) (encore "Dance Macable")
KOSTNER: "Ave Maria"(encore "Bolelo")
FERNANDEZ: "Aerobic Class"/"Satan takes a holiday"/"Charlie Chaplin"　(encore "Pirates of the Caribbean")
MACHIDA: "Les Demoiselles de Rochefort" (encore "East of Eden")
V/M: "Staｙ" (encore J-pop "Fortune Cookie" with Japanese skaters)
CHAN: "Steppin' Out With My Baby" (encore "Elegie")
SOTONIKOVA: "Black Swan" /"Come Together" (encore "Carmen")
HANYU: !Hana Ni Nare!/!White Legend!(encore ")Notre-Dame de Paris"）
I read many tweets about Adelina's new ex "Black Swan". It sounded the program is kinda experimental one but her expressiveness of the story was so impressive for the crowd. And also many people reported that Carolina in Ave Maria was truly beautiful.
In the end of the closing they did quad battle as usual.
Hanyu 4T~3A~3A~3A~3A (He did 4S in the opeinig as well)
Ten 4T~2A, 4T
Osaka Exhibition show will be aired on April the 12th.(Osaka Local) Then we'll find some videos on youtube.
Thanks to the FSU mod. for changing/expanding the title of this thread!
Another Kobe news clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOVMPHxk-u4
I believe these news videos are all from the Nagoya show?
Part 1 (Hanyu, Asada, Ando): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UAzpBi1I4k
Part 2 (mostly Miki Ando): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-pyY6qjKHQ
Hanyu shows off his medals/interview; Asada clip; flowers presented to Ando, Suzuki, Oda: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhaydvxueKA
Clip of Oda's 3T+3T+3T: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljTzhz1tubU
This one includes Hanyu's 4Loop attempt (from Sapporo show)
4Lo attempt from Hanyu I read some reports that the crowd had thrown presents into the rink so other skaters hesitated to try quads. Those presents might be in Hanyu's sight when he was in the air too. In the second half of this video shows the exhibition event of Mao's costumes/photos from her childhood. It says they display her 30 costumes, 150 photos and medals. Such a wonderful exhibition. ETA: I found an article about the exhibition event. Mao Asada: Unusual record, over 10.000 people visited the exhibition event on its first day.
BTW it is announced that on April 11th(Fri) after the SOI show in Tokyo they'll have a ceremony for Mao and Hanyu. Mao's World record scores for short program in Worlds and Hanyu's World record scores for short program in Olympics is gonna be listed in Guinness World Records.
Also it is announced that after every SOI show in Nagoya they'll have a special talk show. Kozuka will work as MC. It's still secret who from the cast will appear in them.
Pang/Tong put a glimpse of Hanyu's 4Lo practice on their Chinese site.
P/T's photos in Sapporo(Superstars on Ice).
Maia put photos/videos in Sapporo(SSOI) on her instagram.
Photos in Sapporo(Superstars of Ice) from Ten's instagram.
One more show in Sapporo today. Have a good day, everyone!
They announced the total amount of the donation on their official site.
Total ￥16,482,260 =　＄161,707
Good job, skaters!! And thanks to all who came to the show and donated for the victims..
The cast: http://www.charity-kobe.jp/images/top.jpg
Daisuke Takanashi(as MC), Mao Asada, Taketo Tamura, Takeshi Honda, Nobunari Oda, Satoko Miyahara, Taichi Honda, Marin Honda, Mariko Kihara, Taichiro Yamakuma, Kazuki Tomono, Kaori Sakamoto, Mai Mihara, Saya Ueno, Ayana Yasuhara and others.
Links to the video/photo of the charity show. Mao skated Jupiter again. It's kinda relief to see healthy Mao skating Jupiter since when she was skating this ex program she was very thin because of many struggles such as her mom's death, reworking on her basics, and of course the disaster.
Daisuke proposed the plan of the charity show and this is the forth year to be held.　Daisuke hadn't recovered enough from his injury so he worked as MC. Wish quick and full recover for Daisuke! Nobu skated The Last Samurai.
Japanese skaters have been doing great support since the disaster. One of the reasons might be many of their fellow skaters are from the affected areas, especially Sendai where Takeshi Honda, Shizuka and Hanyu etc are from. And another might be the skaters who were representatives of Japan to be sent to the canceled Tokyo Worlds had conflicts inside of themselves. Many of them said later that they were wondering whether it was good or not to skate in the Worlds( even in re-scheduled Russian Worlds) since many people were still struggling in Japan. Mao was very shocked by the disaster and kept out of the rink for a week. It affected her peeking but she said later that she wished to skate well there to encourage Japanese people who were affected by the disaster. Shame she didn't place high enough to show her Jupiter in the exhibition show. But I was very much moved by the opening/ending of the exhibition show in Russian Worlds, which was choreographed to support Japan in pain. Back to the topic Japanese skaters are still very active for supporting the people who were affected by the disaster. They do skate in the charity shows across the country, hold skating classes for the victim kids, and go and skate in the shows in the affected areas.
Link to an interview with Daisuke.
Daisuke was interviewed after the charity show. He was asked about his retirement but he didn't answer clearly. He explained like; If he continues competing, he won't quit in a coupe of years, it means he'll aim at the next Olys. It is a big decision. If he retires after this season, it's also a big decision. So he said he needs enough time to consider about his future.
Thanks rosewood for all the info, much appreciated! I love Mao's Jupiter program and Dai is looking handsome as usual!
I am happy that the charity event was so successful.
Dennis Ten and Alex Shibutani are killing it on social media. I want them to do every tour together.
They're fun guys but Maia is also killing it with glamour shots of the ladies. ShibSibs and Denis Ten are Social media superstars who always care about the fans!
Awwwww This photo is so touching. A 2005 flower boy is a 2014 Olympic medalist!
SSOI finished and skaters are moving to Tokyo. Ten participated in Osaka Exhibition and Superstars on Ice(in Sapporo), but he doesn't skate in SOI(in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka).
oops still editing
