I guess they don't get too seriously into the details because is an entertaining show. One thing is for sure:Flamenco suits Povilas Vanagas perfectly and it would be nice to see him skating this one with Rita Drobiazko :) .

The more i watch their last dance the more i realize that i am going to miss very much their ginormous energy, Jana's adorable smile and Khrustalev''s talented skull :).

Thank you for the translation.Google translate gives sometimes very awkward translation and with my poor Spanish i have no choice but to use the closes interpretation :yikes:. Piazzolla's piece was created /remade in honor of his father and in many articles and sites is translated as Farewell Nonino :)
    The story about "Adiós Nonino"

I knew the story, but never saw the title translation. In fact, it must be very tricky to translate correctly because "adiós" has two meanings . (I teach spanish in a high school, the theme is too interesting to me haha).

Thanks for the Ice Age info. It's good to see again all those great skaters but... I miss Cup of professionals :shuffle:.

Good point :) and this is the bigger picture we should be looking at- the chance to watch the skaters and the art they create with the coaches and choreographers and with the celebrities of course since this is more attractive to the audience.

    Episode 12-Olympic champion’s programs
    http://www.1tv.ru/sprojects_edition/si5930/fi27431
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p0zDI8t-ZQ

This episode for me was very confusing. First, IMHO some programs shouldn’t be repeated unless performed perfectly or at least have original choreography .The other confusing part was the judging and the scores .Yet, even the most awkward arguments and exaggerated praising couldn’t affect my favorite choices- Zymina/Tchernishev for not ruining Tessa and Scot’s flaming dance and for the lift from Karmen , Gryu/Marinin for their exquisite Moonlight sonata, Denkova/Kislev and Zykova/Kostomarov for the original/risky interpretations and presentations , Medvedeva/Vanagas for the lovely story and gentle beautiful performance , Domnina/Yaglych for their spoofy ice ballet piece , Spitza/Staviski for the artistic improvisation and Tikhonov/Tsoy/Khamatova for the team work. And there was one time when I wanted to hit ESC button -during the beginning of Navka/Mikhalkhov’s dance and not because Berezhnaya/Sikharulidze’s FD is one of my favorite programs but because of Chaplin. One shouldn’t even dare to touch this theme unless is great and Sikharulidze-the sportsmen was 100% more convincing than Mikhalkov –the actor . Anyway ,this time the two pairs with lowest scores are Petrova/Zapashnyi whose Pink Panter wasn't flexible enough for the judges and Totmyanina/Kuchera whose cute performance was interrupted by stumble and fall. It is another voting time and another chance to save a couple or two :)

vivika, thanks billions for many information!

"Circus" is Alexei's SP in 1998-1999 season choreographed by Tatiana Tarasova for the first time.
He performed SP "Ziganochka" in 1998 Nagano Olympics and Minneapolis WC.

Thank you NONKO :) Love this program :swoon:
Here is Alexey Yagudin's SP from 1999 WC
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaRu4vWzfhY

and his version of "Memorial"-I don't know if his emotions are more genuine but somehow I like his performance better than G/P
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDHQj10I4Yo

He and Slutskaya are great presenters.I love the charming and always well considered, funny comments but it would be nice to see them (at least in the intro of each episode) doing some routine even for half a minute. :)

    You’re welcome, vivika:)

Your link of Alexei’s “Memorial” is from the farewell ceremony at Skate Canada 2003.
Canada loves him and he loves Canada, so Skate Canada made the fantastic film of his brilliant skating history and the unforgettable ceremony leaving from the eligible. So his performance was really emotional and expressed everything from all of his soul.

    Back to Ice Age.
I agree with you, vivika. Alexei and Irina are doing great job as hosts, but I am missing their skating. Averbukh answered it in an interview that he would make opportunities for their fans to show solo programs by them. Hope it will become true.;)

Yes and few more good pairs but those are the rules of the show and with them or without them "Show must go on!!" .The closer it gets towards the end the more dramatic it gets.
Episode13 continued the theme of the previous Episode and the pairs and their coaches and choreographers again tried to be innovative and original. Some succeeded, some didn't.Others were prevented to compete because they couldn't fly back in time or had serious and mysterious reasons which put them automatically in nominations. And speaking of nominations, this time Petrova/Zapashnyi were voted out but they flew away on their angel's wings with fineness, dignity and little sadness. Overall the episode was good and it was nice to see those great programs and their talented interpretations. :encore: I personally liked the programs with the props:) -Denkova/Kislev's shorter piece of cloth ,Zymina/Tchernishev's killer coat,Medvedeva/Vanagas's hat tricks, Gryu/Marinin waltzing glasses and equally enjoyed Oksana's slaps and Roman's claps. You choose yours :)

In this episode we'll see why Povilas Vanags considers trading his pants for a skirt ,how Maxim Staviski skates French minuet ,Peter Tchernishev melts the ice with modern Kadril and Oksana Domnina tries unsuccessfully to stay serious during Finn polka while judges and presenters changing constantly dresses, wigs and hats.

Just stopping by quickly to post the links for Episode 14 and will try to post the music list ASAP:

Everybody dances and sings in this emotional and cheerful episode :) It began with sadness when the audience said Good bye to Tania Totmianina and Oskar Kuchera, then Tchernishev and Zimina made us smile with their The two stooges/Kadril audition, Staviskii and Spitza tried to teach us the steps of minuet but it was diamond in the rough and was misunderstood by the judges, Tikhonov/Tsoy skated gently their Japanese version, Marinin/Gryu took their images from 19 century Christmas post card and showed a nice Russian version, Vanagas/Medvedeva mixed Highlander dressing code with Irish dance , Domnina/Yaglych skilfully combined good drink with funny skating, Mikhalkov,s excitement of Navka's gypsy dance broke the strings of his guitar, at the end Albena Denkova received congratulations for her birthday and with her celebrity partner Peter Kislov brought nostalgia and tears with their Yiddish/Bulgarian/Russian lullaby.

    Thank you Vivika.
The episode was lovely. Julia Zemina has reallly impressed me. Her evolution as a skater has been great. She and Peter are a wonderful couple. Their number was a delight to watch. Tsoy and Tikhonov were amazing as well.
I was very surprised to see the scores for Spitza and Staviski.

Sidenote 1: It was good to see Egor Orshulyak nearby the teams.
Sidenote 2: Peter Tchernyshev is so creative and I wonder why the russian competitive teams don't ask for his help more often.

"Tikhonov/Tsoy skated gently their Japanese version"

Well, not Japanese- it was the music from the Chinese movie "The Flying daggers house"

Sorry for the confusion and thank you for the help ;).I still don't have time for the music list and what i wrote was just a personal statement .Love the soundtrack and Shigeru Umebayashi,s work but my preferences are too girly and goofy to watch combat movies of any kind. The loss is mine :)

Speaking of preferences : i am glad that Max choose the music and the style of one of my most favorite A&M original dances :

But obviously it will be quite different from the previous 'Cup of Professionals'. It's clear that the foreign guests won't have programs choreographed by Averbukh or Zhulin's team, or probably even programs made especially for this show, at least in Lambiel's case. I know that he didn't have time to prepare four new programs - even one is doubtful, although not impossible. So he will be skating his usual show programs from this last year. But the Russian skaters wouldn't have had time to prepare four new programs for 'Cup of Professionals' either, as they had to prepare programs for the current 'Ice Age' show. Besides, in my opinion, it would be a bit unfair if Russian skaters would skate all new programs especially made for this format of a show, while foreign guests would skate their usual programs.
