Wow. Brilliant. Every line, edge, and detail finished thoroughly. Nothing rushed. Thanks for posting that! I don't remember seeing that skate back then(although the age I was, I probably wouldn't have appreciated it then if I did see it).

I forgot to add Bestemianova & Bukin's 1985 Carmen at Europeans.
It is the best Carmen figure skating routine I have ever seen, and that's saying something since Carmen has been used by every skater alive lol.

I'd never seen them skate, but it was cool. Did they win any world medals? If not, I think they were underrated.

No, but they did come in 4th in 1990 (behind K/P, Duscheneys, and U/Z)

Yep, they were 4th in 1990, then went on to win bronze at the 1990 Goodwill Games and retired. Too bad, as they were very talented and seemed to have such great personalities.

Good grief I have never seen this program, thank you so much for sharing. It's astonishingly beautiful, every stroke, every edge oozes musicality. No one skates like this anymore, no one. Robin's skating was so broad and open with flawless technique. :swoon:

Bits and pieces are. As a poster below noted the entire show can be found at the frogs on ice website (sorry for not providing link - I'm on cell phone) and can be downloded and played on widows media.

Didn't they split and she went on to skate with Russ Witherby?

Yes, Susie did pair up with Russ later. I don't think the split between Susie and Joe was entirely amicable, and he was surprised when she partnered up with Russ.

Manleywoman has a great interview with Susie Wynne where she discusses basically living in poverty to be an ice dancer back then. Fascinating interview. Sounds like they did it as long as they could hold on.

Yes, and some moves are not that difficult. But done so well, with such elegance, it's unbelievable. :swoon:

Add me to the list of Joannie Rochette's Olympic SP. The program was superb, and the after response made and still makes me cry.

I remember this one, he also did one called "On the Pond" which was very lyrical - instead of skating to music he recited a poem about skating on a pond - does anyone know where to find it?

Stephane Lambiel reminds me of Robin. He takes performing seriously and does it well.

The performance of Robin you are looking for is : 1993 Skate for life (solo spoken poetry number, that is). I don't find it on Youtube.

And back to the topic, one of my favorite dance, ever :
Vanessa Crone and Paul Poirier FD to YoYo Ma

ITA....That program was charming, refreshing, a breath of fresh air. They have wonderful skating skills and so light and airy in this program..........I expect more terrific programs from them in years to come and am really looking forward to seeing them at Skate Canada next week. :)

I love it. Especially the tap dance on ice. It's hard to bend your feet and ankles in skate boots!

Thanks to all for posting on this thread - I'm checking out all of the programs!
