To counter the yucky perfume post:

I have a patient whose appointments I anticipate with pleasure. This is a middle-aged woman who comes smelling of caramels. I asked her about it and she said it was some Victoria's Secret body lotion.

You'd think that she is too old to smell like candy but no. That scent really brightens up my work day. :)

My Sephora order has a surprise too--my Lancome gift set was supposed to come with eye makeup remover and a kohl pencil, but came with Artliner liquid eyeliner instead. I don't mind, but I already use the cheaper Maybelline and L'Oreal versions of Artliner, so I don't really need it. Oh well, no biggie.

    Thank you!

Now, I'm looking for a concealer... my age is really catching up, I have serious raccoon eyes! Anyone with suggestions? I'm MAC NC42 (most of the time at least)

I just got some IPL for facial rejuvination a couple of weeks ago. Loving how my skin looks about 10 years younger now. No lines or wrinkles and just a much fressher look. It hurt like heck though. Felt like they were flicking me with an elastic band and then touching me with a hot spoon. No pain no gain works though, as I'll totally be going back for more.

I just tried my sample of Fresh Inc Soy Face Exfoliator that came with my Sephora order and OMG I'm in lurrrrve. :swoon: This stuff REALLY EXFOLIATES! I normally only get this kind of result after scrubbing with an exfoliation cloth, and I'm shocked that it came from a product you only leave on your face for 30 seconds!

    This FTW!!

    *******

I've been using Lancôme's Visionnaire now for a few weeks (at night; during the day I use Génifique) along with my serums and moisturizers, and the combined effects of those two have done wonderful things for my skin :swoon: .

The only thing that's still really bugging me are the two crease lines in between my eyebrows. Although my skincare regimen has made an improvement of them, I want them gone. I've been thinking about either getting botox to deal with it, but even though it would only be in that one small area, I'm worried about getting that frozen look. Would Restalyn or Juviderm be a better option, or does anyone know of a better way to get rid of them?

    *******

MiniCyn dragged into Lush a couple of weeks ago, and while I was there, I got a sample of their Ocean Salt exfoliator. I've used it on my body in the shower, and I'm loving it.

That is one funky, weird store. Some of their products seem neat (even if a bit strange), but they insist on blasting music set on 11, and it's annoying and distracting to the point that I can't shop there for more than five minutes at a time.

Seriously! The day I finished using the two samples they gave me, I was right back in to buy it. In that short period of time I felt like I didn't want to go another night without it. :swoon:

Holy friggin' expensive, though - $100/bottle ! The only beef I have with it, is that a little doesn't seem to go a long way like the Genefique does. It dries/absorbs really quickly, so you don't get a chance to spread a small amount around.

Apparently they did build an ice rink here for the MAC event today but I never got to see it :(. Oh well.
I was having some issues with acne the past week so I went cheap and got Clean n Clear's 3 in 1 exfoliating cleanser with 5% benzoyl peroxide. I'm so happy I didn't splurge for the proactiv cleanser cause it has actually helped a ton.

Has anyone seen Johnny's line in person? It's way, way too shimmery for me to actually wear, but it's all very pretty. I'd love all three of the paint pots if they weren't so icy looking. :)

MAC is notoriously ridiculous about collections selling out, but they typically restocks holiday stuff that sells out. Last year, the Tartan Tale lipsticks sold out a few times and were restocked.

No, but that doesn't sound too promising. I am limiting shimmer as I am no longer 18 or even 25. :drama:

I love the Wen cleansing conditioner, but the stuff is absurdly priced. So I tried the Rusk Sensories Calm (sulfate-free) shampoo. I think I like it? Here's the weird part..in the shower, my hair never feels clean, but when I dry it, it's obviously clean. And then drying it is the other weird part...it takes me like ten minutes to blow dry it. I have baby fine hair that I normally dry in two-three minutes.

I like the way it looks, though. Anyone else tried this stuff?

It's the sulfates that produce all the lather we're used to. I've read the trick with sulfate-free shampoos is too make sure you use a lot of friction.

I haven't checked out Johnny's MAC line--I just dropped some $$ at Origins so I'm too scared to walk in to MAC to even look. I wasn't going to buy anything at Origins either, but their gift sets are ABSURDLY discounted and I nearly lost my head.

I scrubbed a ridiculous amount today and the same thing happened. It's like it's not all rinsing out of my hair.

I broke down and ordered more Wen. Sigh.

I've heard some good things about Sally Beauty Supply's "Hair One", supposedly it's a cheaper version of Wen. I might have to give it a try. I've never tried Wen and really want to but considering the car problems we're having, I just can't afford it right now :(

I have very weak nails but my thumb toe nails always break in the corner, horizontally. I know I'm not supposed to wear ballerinas and probably should clip them in a round shape(I do that so I can get rid of the split part ASAP) but I don't know what to do until they grow up. The split of one of them is actually reaching the middle of the nail surface UGHHH

I got a facial on Saturday, and I'm a little disappointed. She wasn't able to extract any of the issues that I have on my face (mostly milia) and I still have little bumps all over my face. I also have a small rash on my neck. I knew there might be reactions and other issues, but it's worse than I thought it would be.

Um...super glue? Otherwise I got nothing, I have ridiculously strong nails that I inherited from my dad.

I had one of those relaxing facials done once too and I also thought it was a disappointment. OTOH my sister went to a facialist who goes over your skin and extracts EVERYTHING. It made her cry, it's so painful, but she said it actually helped a lot.

But IIRC this was before she got Accutane so it probably still wasn't 100% helpful.

I knew that she couldn't fix my sebaceous hyperplasia (even a derm can't always fix that), but I had high hopes for her extracting the milia. :( My face is still very irritated today, it's itchy and dry.

Well, at least I know now!

It appears that Korres has discontinued the watermelon tinted moisturizer, can't find it anywhere on their site or Sephora's. :(

If there is a product you want off the market, let me know. I can start using it and it will go away....
