Bless Norman Lear for giving him the chance to shine in the role.
    Another big loss.
    RIP.

:fragile: I loved Sherman. He was from Philly too. Sad.

I always found it odd that both he and Good Times actor John Amos were both 20 years younger than Isabel Sanford and Esther Rolle, who played their wives, Weezie and Florida.

    RIP Sherman.

I didn't even realize he was still alive. Not sure why I thought he had already passed away. RIP.

Funny stuff when George Jefferson pwned Archie Bunker on All in the Family. Those two played really well off each other.

Three great comedies (The Jeffersons, Maude, and Good Times) from one great comedy (All In The Family).

Yes, but I didn't think this wasn't obvious on the shows. Both Hemsley and Amos were old-looking 30-somethings.

On the news report I saw, they said he had also been an Air Force Veteran. Never knew that about him.

Loved The Jeffersons and George and Weezie just so played off of each perfectly. I also loved Amen and thought it was a wonderful follow up role for him.

Godspeed Mr. Hemsley and thank you for your service Sir. Rest in peace. :(

George Jefferson and Deacon Frye - both the definition of swagger!

Hemsley was a great and underrated actor. I hope the cable networks run lots of Jeffersons and Amen episodes in tribute and people will watch and admire his talent.
