Love that Maisuradze has a new partner. Wishing them luck in their new pairing.
Yes. I hope that she can rediscover her love for skating and fix her health and mental issues.
It is Nodari Kasey is talking about and not Lubov. Lubov still has quite a few problems to handle before she can start competing with her new partner.
Oops... my bad
It always confuses me when the Russian last names don't end with A or V.
Pushkash-Gerreiro will work with Nikolai Morozov
Full-time? So they are leaving Linichuk & Karponosov?
Or will they just work with him on their programs during the Summer?
Full-time. They've left Linichuk-Karponosov
Elena, you better watch out
Does it matter? Linichuk, Morozov, Pushkash, Guriero
No matter in what mixture or order, I couldn't have been interested less.
Oh, THAT would be fantastic!
AFAIK, Guriero is a troublemaker; it would be interesting to see the dynamics in the group.
Is there any evidence of that other than Artur Verner's statement?
Oh wow. This is like the final nail in the coffin for Linichuk & Karponosov.
They haven't exactly been on the pedestal of top ice dance coaches for a while now but when their own federation tosses them aside...
I almost feel sorry for them.
So she's lost her crown jewels, the fourth ranked team from Russian Nationals. Who is her top team now, Carron/Jost who can't even qualify to the FD in a home Worlds?
This is maybe not the right thread to ask this, but what is exactly L&K's problem, I mean beside their awful choreography. I know that, when Faiella & Scali switched to them their skating skills improved, but they didn't manage anymore to get the levels on their lifts and steps.
Pushkash could be trouble for Elena and her boyfriend. Good news if it happens, she may see the light and flee to anyone available
I always felt F&S were at the their peak in 2008 and actually regressed a bit with Linichuk. They went back to making mistakes, their choreography went back to being mostly separated in hand to hand position, and she went back to looking looking like he was pulling her around the rink.
I think they've never really adapted to IJS.
Outdated choreography aside, their teams don't seem to do very well on the levels, something which Shpilband has mastered to perfection.
So Ekaterina Bobrova gave a skating masterclass recently. Here are some pics from it.
Those are wonderful photos -- many thanks for posting them!
Yes, IMHO that's the problem with Linichuk/Karponosov. They're in a time warp. It's a pity, because they are such great technical coaches.
It's not just that their skaters can't get the levels despite improved skating technique. IMO the problem is also their usual tactics of withdrawing their skaters from competitions if they think they're disadvantaged either politically or preparation-wise.
These tactics used to work with the 6.0 system, when if a team was beaten by their immediate rivals in the beginning of the season, they were doomed to the end - or at least severely compromised. These are disastrous tactics with the CoP, where placements can switch and teams have to get as much feedback as possible for their levels.
Here's the list of Morozov's students. Takahashi, P|G are among them.
so miki is finally out.
let´s see, if linichuk will strike back, the question is with who?
Thank you, and Nikita Katsalapov has already tweeted picture with Guerreiro among other "family" members.
According to ISU congress, Lipnitskaya will not be able to do GP. Pity for her and pity for me. I was looking forward to seeing her at Trophee Eric Bompard. But Tuk is my favorite of the wonderbabies and she's there and it's still an amazing field.
It's a pity about Lipnitskaya. Does it mean that Korobeynikova and Shelepen may get second assignment?
So Lipnitskaya will stay in JGP for one more season I suppose?
so does this mean Lipnitskaya will be barred also for 2014 Olympics ?
or does it only apply for Grand Prix rules but will stick with the Olympics age rule
not much competition for Juniors
I guess there is Miyahara and Radionova she can be with
definitely should get 2 assignments I hope
Julia can do GP and Olympics next year. Still sad though.
And hopefully Korobeynikova will get another chance. She has amazing jumps (her programs seem really empty, but that could improve) and it's a pity that she was so terrible at Worlds since Volchkova couldn't be there with her.
Top two skaters from the replacement list will.
That is Nagasu and Korpi and they should be replacing Lipnitskaya.
Biryukova, Korobeynikova and Shelepen (in that order) are further down the list and I think that theoretically they could be picked as well but I imagine that the organisers will want Mirai and Kiira given they are "big names" (to skating fans anyway).
Lipintskaya will be 15 by Sochi, why would she be barred from Olympics?
What has been done at congress is equalising the Senior minimum age at 15, so the only consequence of that is 14 year old skaters not being able to do GP any more.
Separate names with a comma.
