It's not April's 1st, so I'm not joking... that is literally the content of the e-mail that landed on my desktop, coming from my most reliable :sekret: - Massi himself. Can you say un-retirement? Soooo... now that I'm allowed to post it, here's what they had to say:
    Faiella&Scali comeback announcement
Well... I missed them lots at Worlds, so I'm really curious to see what they will come up with!

:cheer2: Shortest retirement ever! I'm glad though; I think there's a bit of a vacuum in Euro ice dance atm; and they probably know that. Their FD this last season was STUNNING.

Good luck guys, and WB! :D

I hope they do come back. I like their style, and I feel they add interest to dance.

Wheeeee! Welcome back Federica and Massimo! :encore:

How will this work though, with both F&S and P&B being coached by Camerlengo/Krylova?

I took the announcement to mean they would return to Aston?

F/S will probably go back to Linichuk. But maybe Camerlengo will do choreo?

If you go to the link above and scroll down a little, it says that they will be returning to Philadelphia which I assume is Linichuk.

Interesting. They were world bronze medalists and just had unfortunate things happen to them with dresses and injury. So if they want to come back and try to go out on a high rather than "a series of unfortunate events" I could see that.

I third the motion :D! Very happy F/S are coming back next season, especially since they should be able to go out on a much better note as long as they stay healthy. Fingers are crossed on my end.

Have they made any announcements about their FD next year? I'm hoping they keep the Manolete program and we'll see it skated to its full potential :cheer2:.

Wonderful news. I felt so bad for them this season with F injury and the mishaps with her costume and then they announced their retirement, and I was really sad. Welcome Back!! :)

There is a slight chance that when F/S mention returning to "Philadelphia" they could mean Platov. He coaches at a rink in Mount Laurel, NJ, just outside Philadelphia. I think he would be a much better fit for F/S than Linichuk.

I think they don't want to finish their career on such a sad note like in Bern. I'll be happy to see them competing again when they are healthy and maybe they can fulfill their dream and win the European Championships. So hopefully Federica will be healthy soon.

I was thrilled to see this news. I've become a fan over the last few years and I really did miss their presence in Moscow. I do agree that they should keep their free dance for next season. We saw its potential at Euros and I think it really can become something special.

Now I just want to hear the same news from Sinead and John...

The decision to stop between euros and worlds was silly, esp when u then realise Shibs finished 3rd and Weaver 5th. Not taking anythin away from either team, they both skated beautifully but F/S could have taken both of them, esp with extra 5weeks of training...

I was thinking the same thing - a lost opportunity. :( They must be kicking themselves!

Their free dance was the most beautiful program of the year IMO. It would have made the competition so much richer.

I think after seeing the Worlds field, they might have realized they could easily get a bronze again at their best.. esp. with the retirement of Sinead and John
