There is an auction going on right now on Charity buzz and you can bid for a date with fave celeb with all proceeds going to charity. :respec: Poor Piers Morgan got zero bids for his date and the highest is for a coffee date with Apple CEO Tim Cook which was at last count over $500,000. Who would you bid on if you had the chance?! If I could I would bid on young Mr. Hemsworth! Can hardly believe he has on $3,500 for his date.

Is Jared Leto on that list? I will take out a second mortgage on my condo.

BWAHAHAHA at no one wanting to go on a date with Piers Moron. Since all he would do is talk about himself and all the famous people he knows, I can see why no one would want to spend an evening with him.

I can think of a few Idol fangirls who would go gaga over this idea. ;) (None here, but certainly on my Twitter timeline.)

I wonder how some of these work. For example: Acting in a scene with Chris Hemsworth or meeting Robert De Niro at Tribeca in NYC. Do you have to pay all costs for travel and lodging to get to those locations or is that included? If everything is included then the current bidding prices are not bad at all, although I assume they will go a lot higher.

Looking through them, if I had the money I would bid on:

VIP tickets to the Kennedy Center Honors
Lunch with Allison Sweeney on the set of Days of our Lives (hey, I was obsessed with this soap when I was younger!)
4 seats to the US Open (tennis) although I would need more details, that could be amazing or awful depending on the court and matchup.
    Sundance Film Festival package

Most of them say things like travel and lodging not included in legal terms.

I wonder however if you can bid for some one? My good friend might be interested in dr. Goodall lecture & meeting (the monkey researcher) but it say it cannot be sold or reauctioned - can I gift it? Well, maybe I should just suggest it to her husband :p

Celebrity is crap. Why don't the celebrities cough up the money themselves?

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot were doing both. Plus the celebrity date part of it brings attention to the charities.
