    "Evan Lysacek will not go to Golden Spin of Zagreb. Nationals to be his first comp in nearly 3 years - if he is healthy." (ETA: source is his agent, Shep Goldberg, via text message on Friday)

    Hersh also mentioned that Lysacek skated in a cancer benefit show this past Wednesday that will air on CBS on November 25th: http://www.kaleidoscope.org/

    Maybe we've been through all this but my brain is a bit foggy today - but how has Lysacek qualified for Nationals? Don't tell me he's still got a bye from the Olympic medal!

    so he could qualify for worlds but have to still have to establish eligibilty for worlds after nationals.

    Challenge Cup, Feb. 21-24, in The Hague, Netherlands, could be a likely Senior B option IF Lysacek needs to attain 2013 Worlds minimum TES scores.

    ETA that there are earlier Sr. B options in February as well (in GER, SLO, AUT, possibly ITA).

    According to ISU Communication 1742, section 7

    It doesn't say anything about removing the requirement altogether, but the document says, when announcing new minimums for World Juniors, that the basis of the ISU Council's authority is ISU Constitution Article 17.q.1, which reads,

    under the following circumstance,

    Which reads to me that they can do anything they please whenever they please.

    Why they'd want to punt the purpose of creating minimums in the first place across the board is beyond me. They did make an exception last year for Plushenko to participate in Euros without a Euros minimum, so, perhaps they'd do the same for Lysacek for 4C's. It would be interesting if they gave Lysacek a Worlds exception, when they didn't for Plushenko.
