I'm sure Only Love Survives will win the public vote.

I guess my stream is really behind? Ryan already won? I suppose that was the best choice but I still think the song is boring.

Here is the live performance of the Irish winner:
    Ryan Dolan "Only Love Survives"

SHAME ON YOUR IRELAND! When the Greeks can put on a much better show than you, it's time to become a British colony again. The stage could not have possibly been any smaller and more cramped.

Not only that, you're also sending a poof to represent you on the international stage, which is an absolute outrage for such a religious country. :drama:

And sorry but that song is a piece of shit. :scream:

The production is so cheap, it sounds like it was recorded at home on some cheap old synthesiser and it wouldn't even make the playlist at my local gay club (which plays "Welcome to St. Tropez" for 20 years now every night).

Sorry Ireland but you're not getting out of your semi this year.

Moving on to Israel, I think the only weak point of KDAM this year is that having three 4th placed songs battling it out for one place is not much of an event. They should have had 4th and 5th place finishers doing that.

And sorry for the beauty terror but Cascada's Natalie Horler really could do with dropping a kilo or two or TEN. :p

Anouk's song is going to be called "Birds" and it will be revealed on 11th March.

Have you never watched an Irish final before? It's the same studio every single year.

If anything, I think they had a bit more space than last year. :shuffle:

I've no ideas about his sexuality, but the 1980s called and wants your ideas about what kind of country Ireland is back.

Is there any song you like this year Ziggy though? Or will it be a case of picking the best looking turd from the toilet bowl? ;)

It's already made it to gay clubs here so Poland is only a matter of time. :EVILLE:

I think you're wrong, but we'll wait to see how it looks on a big stage in Malmo.

Ryan for some reason reminds me of an overweight Florent Amodio.... :slinkaway

Actually, it was kind of surprising that in a final of unknowns the Irish public went for an uptempo song because it's usually ballads by default.

Yeah I know it's always the same studio. SPICE IT UP IRELAND!

Come on, I believe you have eyes. ;)

I think it's the worst Eurovision year in quite a long time. :(

I hate to admit it but I like Cascada. :shuffle: It's decent for what it is.

I think "Only Teardrops" is ok. "Straight into Love" is passable.

"I Feed You My Love" is amazing and the best song so far by a mile.

But rest is all crap. :p

and I thought Jedward couldn't sing...

the general level of songs is terribly low this year - even Melodifestivalen disappoints! Denmark and Norway save the competition for me. well, Austria and Ukraine, too :shuffle:. and Cascada :shuffle::shuffle:...

I agree... After such a long break, they came up with this? I'm seriously disappointed.
Btw, I had a strange impression they used playback. La Camilla seemed to sing a second after the actual voice could be heard :p.

Why are the male lesbian's backup dancers doing Loreen's choreography from last year?

It's not THAT bad, Zig. Though I do think it's about 30 seconds too long. It gets repetitive. And some better backup singers would not be amiss.

    This!

They have put on a fantastic show, I mean:
    - the costumes (especially Barda's underwear and military stars stuck to his nipples)
    - gyrating on the floor
    - Bard 'playing' the keytar
    - Camilla's monologue, starting with: 'I was born 7 million years ago, in Sweden, Africa.' :D
    - Bard and Barda snogging

Although the dancing could have been sharper, it looked unrehearsed and unfinished.

The song was just soooooo bad. Sounded like something hastily put together one afternoon.

It definitely had potential. The 'nananana' hook was great but the song just wasn't developed enough and the backing beat was really simple.

    I am very disappointed.

And that song aside, I felt the fourth Melodifestivalen semi was the weakest one so far, by far.

No songs stood out at all.

I probably liked "You" the most but that guy has as much charisma as a tablecloth.

Oh and on another note, I had a dream that the British national final featured 8 'credible' Indie acts.

Goldie, tUnE-yArDs and The xx are the ones I remember taking part.

A prophecy that is bound to come true, for sure. :D

I met him yesterday Mr. Lordi from Lordi). He is a nice guy, and told that they enjoyed performing in Ireland, but told that he is a bit tired of performing "Hard rock hallelujah" in Eurovision context. We Finns are still very proud of him.

Alllezfred, I´ll try to catch the songs later and will surely volunteer to vote in FSU Eurovision.

I want to be Sweden again!

I hope Robin Stjernberg's "You" and Anton Ewald's "Begging" join the final out of Andra Chansen. I'd be ok with Behrang Miri and Martin Rolinski as well.

That crazy falsetto Romanian song ("Seven") made it to the final. :D

    Russia has presented their entry:
    Daria Garipova "What If" (Russia)

Well this is a piss poor effort. Yeah she can sing but it's just such dull, unimaginative ballad. Would suit a shitty Disney movie perfectly.

Spain - The Song For El Sueño De Morfeo
Viewers and jury will be selecting between those three songs:

    "Atrévete"
    "Contigo Hasta el Final"
    "Dame Tu Voz"

It's all a bit bland but I like "Dame Tu Voz" the most by far.

I just dont know how will they make it interesting on the stage.
Those guys were picked from different "bands", well traditional smaller groups from Adriatic coast - klape.
They work well with voice coordination, but they seem awkward on the stage.

Agreed! They really need to work on that. I think the song is pretty decent though.

I like Contigo hasta el final. It's probably my 3rd favorite song so far.

    Georgia's entry is completely unmemorable.

I hope Love is One wins for Israel :D

Quite a few finals this weekend. Gor Sujyan will represent Armenia in Malmo singing "Lonely Planet". Wonder if that will fall afoul of brand name violations a la Facebook uh oh uh oh...

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! My two favourite songs won the Andra Chansen and went through to the final!

    Sweden - Melodifestivalen Andra Chansen

You can watch it here: http://www.svtplay.se/video/1047584/2-3-20-00

You really should because it was AWESOME!

The level was extremely high, all songs were decent. It was better than pretty much all of the national finals in fact. :p

    Results:

    8. Eric Gadd "Vi kommer aldrig att förlora" (We'll Never Lose) - it was actually a nice, dad rock, radio friendly track
    7. Cookies 'N Beans "Burning Flags" - a power ballad, which packed a big emotional punch, loved how their voices blended together
    6. Caroline af Ugglas "Hon har inte" (She Hasn't) - serious face ballad, I like her delivery but the instrumentation was very cheap

Those three got eliminated immediately. Five got through for next voting round THANK GOD the song which placed 5th was:
    5. Eric Segerstedt & Tone Damli "Hello Goodbye" - a mediocre, dull love song, ugh

And then we had two duels between awesome kick ass songs:
Behrang Miri "Jalla Dansa Sawa" vs. Anton Ewald's "Begging"

I thought Miri had it in the bag but Ewald's poppers o'clock club banger won. YEAH!

    The second duel was:
Robin Stjernberg's "You" vs. Martin Rolinski's "In And Out Of Love"

Stjernberg had it in the bag from the beginning really. Rolinski had a cool retro disco track but it was time for him to go.

And this way we got two AMAZING tracks to join the final.

I would really love Stjernberg to win the whole thing.

I am pretty sure Miri was 2nd, Ewald was 3rd, Stjernberg was 1st and Rolinski was 4th after the two rounds of voting (maybe Miri and Ewald the other way round).

    Armenia

Four songs in the final 50/50 jury and televote. And they've chosen this:

Armenia - Gor Sujyan "Lonely Planet"

This is unbelievably amateurish. Cheap wedding band vibes.

    Estonia - Eesti Laul 2013

    It was so close!

Winny Puhh :cheer2: and Grete Paia both got 16 points but since she had one point higher from the televote, she went through to the superfinal. She battled Birgit Õigemeel who got 17 points.

The televote alone decided the winner and given Paia won the televote in the first round of voting, with Õigemeel to places behind, you would have thought Paia had it in the bag.

But nope, in an extremely close vote Birgit Õigemeel won with 51% of the vote.

Estonia - Birgit Õigemeel "Et uus saaks alguse"

    Terrible, predictable, cheesy, bland ballad.

Winny Puhh were so close to winning the whole thing. :(

    Hungary - A Dal 2013

They had a weird format where the jury chose the four best songs and then people voted between those. And they've chosen ByeAlex:

    Hungary - ByeAlex "Kedvesem"

Sound the authenticity klaxon. One of them has a beanie hat and the other has a guitar!

WTF is this shit? Seriously. Worst Eurovision year ever. :drama:

Tone Damli couldn't make the dress rehearsal and Matthias Andreasson stood in for her. :D
    http://www.svtplay.se/klipp/1068456/se-mattias-andreasson-hoppa-in-for-tone-damli/?beskrivning=1

It's great how gender progressive Sweden is and something like this isn't an issue at all for anybody involved (Segersedt doesn't look even remotely uncomfortable).

Also, on the subject, a picture of Ewald celebration kissing Stjernberg: ^^

    so cooool!
I can't imagine a similar thing in our country :/...

btw, I keep my fingers crossed for Robin! seriously, I have goosebumps whenever I listen to "You". plus he's got a nice babyface :p.

as for Estonia - it's quite decent, though bland... Armenia is cheap. and Hungary chose one of the worst songs (I wanted Gergo Racz to win).

Judah Gavra's "We're Beautiful" advanced to the finals in Israeli Kdam.
The first time Israel participated was on 1973.
One of the following 10 finalists is going to represent Israel on its 40th year in ESC:

    Judah Gavra - We're Beautiful
Moran Mazuz - Give Me A Sign -
She is a blind singer, who used to be in the Israeli Kokhav Nolad (like American Idol)
Ron Weinreich - Love Is One -
IDF commander who was injured during the Lebanon war
    Shany Zamir - Forever
    Hila Ben David - Beautiful
Ran Sandler - Find A Way
Meital De Razon& Asi Tal- Toda La Noche
Moran Mazor - Only For Him
Vladi Blayberg - We are free
    Kathleen Reiter - Jusqu'a moi

The final Kdam will take place this coming Thursday, but Israelis can vote for their favorite song from today.

I want Shany Zamir to win. It's a poppers o'clock Euro trash bonanza! :cheer2: I love it!

Although those high notes are painful to hear. :p

    Vladi Blayberg is just .

    Dramz in Macedonia. :drama:

"Imperija" was terribly received and Macedonian TV pulled the clip from YT and requested changes to both the song and the video.

The song will have new lyrics, there will be a new arrangement (hopefully no more cheap old synthesiser in the chorus :scream:) and the video will be edited again.

Video could have possibly been pulled because it shows the statue of Alexander the Great which has recently been erected in Skopje and you can imagine what the Greeks' reaction to that will be.

That was actually the worst part of the whole show. :p

Oh piss off. This really is the worst year in ages. :drama:

This, on the other hand, is awesome. :D

They were the clear favourites to win so no surprise here. I think their song was written by the "Molitva" composer, IIRC.

What does surprise me is how weak their vocals are, the blonde one aside, given they are the three finalists of Prvi Glas Srbije (Serbian Voice).

Ugh. I actually preferred (the terrible) "Rhythm of Love." That's really awful. :scream:

Moje 3 are on repeat all day for me. Fabulous song, everything an Eurovision song should be. Super camp, over the top, kitsch, fabulous! :cheer2:

    A high quality version here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWbAdDB1ukE

The more you watch it, the more fabulous detail you notice. The facial expressions of the "devil" girl are just...

The amateurish WTF choreography makes Lipnitskaia's programs look sophisticated.

    Amazing!

I am surprised it's Mirna Radulovic ('the angel') who won Prvi Glas Srbije since she has the weakest vocal out of the three. Nevena Bozovic (the blonde) is the best, by far (although she had that one bum note towards the end).

Belarussan song was originally called "Soleo" (much better name) and was posted by the composer on his my space in 2008 so it could potentially get disqualified.

It looks like the Macedonian song is going to be changed completely by an acclaimed Macedonian composer.

My favourite Serbian journalist reaction after Moje 3 win (about Sara Jovanovic): 'It's not the first voice of Serbia but the first sex shop of Bulgaria.' :D

Decided to withdraw from the final Kdam tomorrow.
She actually had good chances to win due to her popularity as the winner of the Israeli The Voice.
Not sure about the reasons for her withdrawal.
