1st Semi 2nd Rehearsals. And some observations:
-omg, Belarus is so unbelievably cheap. Alyona, honey, it's not 2005 anymore!
-otoh, Serbia is cheap and random, as well, but I'm kind of lovin' it :D. that literal choreo makes me delerious :p.
-my fandom of Montenegro definitely diminished after what I've just heard...
-my top 3 in semi 1 after 2nd rehearsal: Moldova, the Netherlands and Denmark.

I'm waiting impatiently for 2nd Rehearsals in 2nd Semi!

OMG, I love the Moldovan song. It sounds so much better in Romanian. I hope it makes it to the final! :)

I assume she will have a different dress in the semi. In an interview on Norwegian TV today they mentioned a dress that nobody is allowed to see, a well kept secret. She will probably wear it in the dress rehearsal.

The Azeris are rather random in what they are putting up on their entrants Youtube channel.

I've just watched the videos from 2nd rehearsals in 2nd Semi and, for sure, the biggest wtf moments were FYROM, Latvia and Romania...
Otoh, these 3 should definitley qualify (on the basis of performance level and voice quality): Azerbaijan, Georgia, Norway. And I still believe in Valentina who uses again that IKEA lamp from the video (I'm curious if it's the same one :p) :).

The Opening Ceremony is happening tonight and will be streamed live by Swedish TV. No idea if it will be geoblocked or not.

Google translate threw up some unusual interpretations of the above page. I heard Swedes like to have a good time, but this might be taking the :grope: too far.

It's Googletranslate's version really. I'm much too :saint: to have come up with it on my own. ;)

    Latvia = redneck wedding band

Macedonia - everybody's been complaining about Esma (rightly so, she's awful) but Lozano has really blown that uploaded second rehearsal performance as well, what a mess

Btw, Macedonia has been forced to perform in Macedonian and not English because they'd have to pay 10% of participation cost to change the language of the song at such a late stage.

    Romania - LOL

Romanian broadcaster has complained about the very high cost of participation and it looks like Romania is going to withdraw next year if Cezar won't qualify. And no chance in hell that he will. Unless he gets a lot of 'HAHAHA, it's so bad it's hilarious' votes. :p

I was out shopping all day and missed it. Anything interesting happened? Any fashion disasters? :D

I think Romania is qualifying. Not because I like it, but because it would be awesome. :D

Boooo boring. Nobody wore anything interesting.

The Israeli singer's outfit and styling was a disaster as usual but what else is new.

I am making plans for tomorrow night.
Some booze and junk food, along with trashy Eurovision semi finals!

In my humble opinion, it's a 4 diddy race between tight tits Norway and saggy jugs Israel.

Kudos to the fishermans friend Iceland, gap models of Sweden and local bin men from Croatia.

Slovenia, Cyprus and Belgium did badly in the jury rehearsal so we probably won't be seeing them in the final.

Will reveal the results of the FSU Eurovision Poll tomorrow at 8pm my time. :)

Be interesting to see how many we get right tonight. At least we're guaranteed four. ;)

Now, if somebody could explain exactly what Ukraine's song means I'd be all set....

Judging by the reports I've seen, those should all be through.

FSU usually predicts 7-8 right every year. We didn't pick Moldova which by all accounts seems like it is pretty likely to qualify. Estonia and/or Belarus could also advance out of the countries that didn't make it on our poll (although 2005 called and wants Belarus to return their song/staging :p).

    This Saturday! Woot!

I've been so busy with exams that I haven't been here in a while. I have my last one today and then...EUROVISION! Best. timing. ever. Only thing is I'm going to have to watch semi 1 later--remember, it's mid-day for me.

But YAY! Eurovision always gets me excited.

A little late here, but I just want to add in that this song won in Hungary because the lyrics are truly magically beautiful, kind of like a cross between a children's fairytale and a love song ("Kedvesem" means my darling/my dear/my precious), so basically it's just pure voids and poetry, but unfortunately it's totally impossible to translate it to English, so the best part of the song won't come across to most people. But I'm happy that some of you still like it, I hope a little bit of the magic does go across despite the language barrier. :)

ETA: Found a vid with a literal translation of the lyrics, a lot is still lost in translation (not that I could do a better job), but here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKDATom8eP4
