Judging by the reports I've seen, those should all be through.

FSU usually predicts 7-8 right every year. We didn't pick Moldova which by all accounts seems like it is pretty likely to qualify. Estonia and/or Belarus could also advance out of the countries that didn't make it on our poll (although 2005 called and wants Belarus to return their song/staging :p).

    This Saturday! Woot!

I've been so busy with exams that I haven't been here in a while. I have my last one today and then...EUROVISION! Best. timing. ever. Only thing is I'm going to have to watch semi 1 later--remember, it's mid-day for me.

But YAY! Eurovision always gets me excited.

A little late here, but I just want to add in that this song won in Hungary because the lyrics are truly magically beautiful, kind of like a cross between a children's fairytale and a love song ("Kedvesem" means my darling/my dear/my precious), so basically it's just pure voids and poetry, but unfortunately it's totally impossible to translate it to English, so the best part of the song won't come across to most people. But I'm happy that some of you still like it, I hope a little bit of the magic does go across despite the language barrier. :)

ETA: Found a vid with a literal translation of the lyrics, a lot is still lost in translation (not that I could do a better job), but here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKDATom8eP4

Lots of my favorites in the top 10. I didn't expect France to be so high. I hope she does well in the real contest.

Wheee, I like the result very much! Hope it turns out like that in the real thing on Saturday as well.

PML at seeing myself voting - I've written the wrong country with the 12 points  Sweden wasn't even on my voting list  But the country I ment to give the 12 to got plenty of them anyway and didn't need my help to win :)

I only voted for one of the top three finishers in the FSU poll, and I only gave them one point.

But at least my faves did make the top 10

Interesting! :cheer: It'll be fun to see whether the real results are anything like ours - probably not. FSU has much better taste. ;)

Did I see correctly that Ziggy representing Sweden gave Sweden 12 points? Or did my eyes just deceive me. Not that it's a big deal or that I really care :p but I was just wondering.

I wouldn't mind the same results on Saturday :). But I'm afraid Europe will not acknowledge Amandine the way we did...

I gave my 12 points to Norway.

I'd be very happy if top 5 looked the same as on FSU. Although I'd like to see Sweden much higher.

As long as Denmark doesn't win, I'm going to be ecstatic pretty much. :p

switch Switzerland and Hungary and I'll be very happy :)

It looks more probable now... If she retains that look of a deer caught in the headlight, no way she's going to win. I'm kicking myself for giving her douze points...

If the results are close to FSU's votes, I'll be more than happy.
But really ? Some do like France's song ? I mean I like it because I love Amandine and her kind of "sadomasochiste" song, but I thought noone would appreciate the devious aspect of it

Can anybody recommend a good Eurovision website, which is updated frequently and has the juicy stuff? I know there's quite a few but a lot of them are rubbish.

ETA: Semi-Final 2 Dress Rehearsal Report

Esma's vocals were totally off. There was laughter in the audience after they finished.

Elitsa's vocals were reportedly quite weak also. Stoyan dropped his drum stick. :D

I hope same will happen tonight and neither will qualify. :EVILLE:

FYI, Cezar has waxed his torso (he's going to show a lot of it tonight).

There was a number of technical and camera errors. :scream:

When Petra was announcing mock semi-finalists, she said 'Macedonia' without 'F.Y.R.' Drama incoming. :D

Loreen is going to perform her new single during the final. It's not on her last album.

Same here. Those would be very decent results indeed.

She also slouched even worse than Max Aaron. :p

It's proper music. Doesn't happen often at Eurovision. :p

ETA: I've just read interesting commentary by a Polish dude who is reporting for Polish OGAE.

If Macedonia qualifies to the final, then it might achieve its highest placement ever because it might get the highest marks from all other ex-Yugo countries being the only finalist from that region. Plus the Roma community throughout Europe is going to probably mobilise to vote for Esma.

If Macedonia doesn't qualify to the final (I hope it won't!), then the situation will be even more interesting. Ex-Yugo countries always gave the highest points to each other. But if none of them will be in the final, their voting is going to be really unpredictable.

The videos of the 'big 5 + host' second rehearsals are up now.

    France - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5I1Ru3GdEQ
This is great. Original voice, very good stage presence, sophisticated song. It would be fantastic if France finished as high as it did in the FSU poll. :)

    Germany - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9mPA7Max4c
Oh dear. Vocals off key from the start. I don't get the 'staircase' staging (it's boring), I don't like her costume and she's not the best singer. I think they'll finish outside of top 10, to be honest.

    Italy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jKrwJ629Sk
This song really bored me at first but it's grown on me a little bit. He looks like a homeless person. Can't believe his manager allowed him to show himself in this state. He's gonna get a haircut and a shave before the final, I hope.

    Spain - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkyXFopQQZs
Ok performance I guess but that song bores me so much, I just switched off instantly.

    Sweden - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFBesm4ThiI
I'm disappointed this didn't place higher in the FSU poll. I am hoping for top 5 in the actual final. I like the choreography is his vocal range is really impressive. Thumbs down regarding the costume though. He looked much better during Melodifestivalen. He looks a bit like an ugly lesbian now. :p

    United Kingdom - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCkvvSV48KI
Croaky, old woman's voice. Sorry but that just sounds terrible. And that song is so old-fashioned.

Amandine is at first a very good live performer. I don't care for her studio albums, but her live performances are always a catch :)

I expected better from Cascada. The girl, Natalie, actually sings very nicely...this song was a bad idea. Kind of a shame.

Which feeds weren't geoblocked on Tuesday? :D

Yeah, she must have really pissed someone off at Swedish TV. :EVILLE:

The last few years most of the winners have been performed between the 17-22 mark so it's looking good for Denmark.

If I've done my time conversion correctly, the final airs at 4:00 PM Eastern time tomorrow - right? :shuffle:

I haven't been able to watch any of the semis, but I should be able to see the finals.

France first??? I was going to reply to MarieM that I thought she actually had a real shot if she hit her performance, based on the semis. Not likely now. :wall:

Eurovision.TV has a non-geoblocked live stream (and should have the semis archived IIRC). Make sure to give yourself a couple minutes to install the Octoshape plugin.
