Look at how beautiful they're, even in the interpretation... He really, as Massimo [Scali] said before, talks with his body, his whole body talks and "tells" the music, and even in the technical moves, when he has to "handle" her, look at how many transitions when he's able to be elegant and precise...

I love that. Too many people overlook what Charlie does because his facial expression wasn't as consistent or strong as Meryl's. But he has always, always embraced every story they tell with his body. He's so dynamic.

Totally agree! I am very much a Meryl fangirl but Charlie got me hooked on this team back in 2007 when I saw them for the first time. I just loved the way he moved on the ice, his power and energy. But boy has he ever improved since then...his power and speed now is incredible, its amazing that Meryl can keep up but she sure does! With all their power and speed they still manage to be emotional and as was said, elegant and precise. They are of course, loved by US fans but I always enjoy the international love for them, too.

A poster on GSD mentioned that this coming season will be D/W's last. I hadn't heard that Meryl and Charlie were planning to retire.

It is being assumed that D/W will retire after the Olympic season but, IMO, they are not likely to announce their decision for a while yet. They've certainly earned the right to retire after the Olympic season, if that's what they want.

I think the poster on GSD said "IF this is their last season In interviews they have said that they are leaving it open to seeing how much more they want to do in the sport, or something like that.

I hope they don't retire. They still have so much to give the sport and I really want to see them continue to stretch their boundaries.

So has anyone heard any rumors about music? Sometimes I think they create their programs in a vault at Fort Knox because there is never any leaked information.

I'm glad we at least have the excitement of the GP roster announcement on Monday to look forward to. It's a little something to give life to the offseason! I hope we get another great dance field at SA again. Last year's group was awesome.

I want to go to SA so bad. I hope I can find a way but finances are looking a little bleak. We'll see! If DW will be there which I'm sure they will I really want to see them live again. And see some of my skating buds again!

Looks like Meryl and Charlie will be at SA and NHK along with the Shibs!

The SA line-up is to die for. I wish I could get to Detroit that weekend.

The SA dance roster is AWESOME! It could only be more awesome if Lynn and Logan get the TBA spot. :)

I hope you can all find a way to make it to Detroit!!

Well, all I can say is: NO FAIR! Tessa and Scott's European fans get to see them at TEB EVERY FREAKING TIME. I guess what seemed to be my last chance to see Meryl and Charlie compete has just been killed.
I can't get over it. Japan will have them THREE freaking times this year. And they haven't been to TEB since 2007, for crying out loud!

    So not fair.:(

I find it hilarious that all but one of the dance teams listed for Skate America already train in Michigan, if only part-time for some.

And the Shibutanis have the same events as D/W too! Hope we get some good Shibs Sibs shenanigans this year.

Awww you got me excited. The roster for SA isn't very wow for me. They did a pretty good job this year spreading my favorites out :(. Now the Men's event (minus Evan) for SA...sign me up!

Yeah, I meant NHK, GPF and Worlds. By this year I meant this season.

yeah, I jump right at buying some Olympic tickets, because they are the same price as silly GP tickets, right? not to mention a flight to Russia is zillion times more expensive than one to Paris.
seriously, what the hell are you even doing here?

I'll be in NYC for the next two years for school but I am going to be doing everything in my power to find a way to get to Detroit that weekend. I doubt I'll be successful but I have to try. I lucked out last year, since Kent is only a stone's throw away.

Is anyone planning on going to Nationals? I reserved a hotel room but am still mulling over it (mainly due to cost)

There should be a large D/W contingent at Nationals. :)

I'm going to try! I have no idea where I'll be at that point (location or finances) but I so want to see them live this season. And if my best friend gets the job she's going for in Boston I'll have a floor to sleep on...not that's why I want her to get the job lol. But it would be a perk for me at that time of year. :)

I can't wait to hear some news on their programs!

If I can't get to Skate America, I'm going to try for Nationals. I'll be in NYC so it shouldn't be too difficult to get there. Just a matter of costs.

NY <-> Boston buses are the way to go for students! Dirt cheap. Amtrak is so comfortable but it's comparatively expensive. The Chinatown bus should be experienced at least once. And it's nowhere near as sketchy as Greyhound buses in the rest of the country. :scream:
