While I was looking for a live stream to share with you guys, I came across this: http://livemanager.eurovision.edgesuite.net/isu/site/index.html.
I find it very unusual that it is geoblocked in ALL of the "major" skating countries. So basically those in Australia, Africa and South America can only view it. Do they even know what "ice" is? lol

The ISU's live stream of Worlds is available only to the countries that have not bought TV broadcast rights.

Sorry for continuing on that here, but I just can't agree. All the problems that they had in the FD was on the elements that they hadn't changed since the first outing at Skate Canada - problems that they hadn't had before. Two overheld lifts, a weird one-time problem in the spin, loss of levels on one of the two lifts that were overheld (the combination lift - Tessa didn't hold the first lift position long enough). Other than that, the overall skating, step sequences, the kicking move, the changed choreo lift all looked smoother than they had before. And in terms of expression it was, imho, also the best performance of the season.

OMG YES. Meryl and Charlie are, by what seems to be natural temperament, like every sports sponsors dream come true and what does the USFSA do with that? Nothing. Can't handle it.

This competition is going to be something else. I'm so curious/nervous/excited.

Were they skating the SD or the FD this afternoon when the collision happened?

No idea. All I know is Charlie and Madison collided and Madison got up again very quickly. It was at the end of D/W's music, I believe.

It was during practice this afternoon that the collision took place -- pretty sure everyone was doing their SD -- and it happened at the practice rink (at least according to my printoffs). IIRC, I read somewhere that Charlie looked none too happy when it happened. I'm just glad everyone was apparently OK.

Apparently this wasn't the only bump or near miss going on today with the dancers. Watch out peeps!

I guess they are auctioning them for some charity? Since the skates are black, I guess they were Charlie's? I see P&B's skates are next to theirs.

I'm not sure whether those are Charlie's? The one Meryl is signing looks maroon. Here is more info about the project.

Have D/W ever collided with another team before? I can't recall it ever happening, at least in Seniors. But it sounds like everything is ok. :)

I don't seem to recall anything of significance. They may have had some near misses. But that seems to happen with any sort of warm-up/practice it seems. The collision rate was especially high in that rink today. Warm-ups make me nervous. I'm still trying to erase the one from Nationals from my memory, involving Lynn/Logan.:yikes:

Not an ideal starting position but they are pros so I'm sure that they will be focused on doing their best in what they can control. It will likely all come down to levels anyway. Unless there are uncharacteristic errors I'm petty sure that the pcs marks will be quite close in the short dance between them and v/m.

I don't know how much it would matter but skating close to 10 PM is almost like skating at bedtime for those in the Eastern timezone.
Luckily, most people are still adjusting to DST.

Unforunately, that's what happened last year at World's. It really came down to one level as determined by the Tech Spec., Marie Bowness of Canada. And surprise, surprice, guess who is the Tech Spec. this time around on Canadian soil, no less? Yep, Marie Bowness.

At least she's got Judy with her this time. And Marie was assistant tech specialist at the GPF, wasn't she? Clinging to positive things!!!!

Marie seems to be a popular choice with the ISU :shuffle:.
